Step 1 Lead in

T: Good morning, class.

S: Good morning,Miss Chen.

Teacher shows the students toys one by one

and asks: What’s this ? S:It’s a rabbit

T:Yes. It’s a rabbit. How lovely! What’s this? S:It’s a dog.

T: What’s this? S:It’s a bear.

T: What’s this? S:It’s a monkey.





Step 2 presentation

1. Distinguish this,that,my,your,his,her

Teacher holds her book and asks: Look. What’s this?

S: It's a book.

T: Yes.It’s a book. This is my book. This is my book.(Write my on the

blackboard)

Teacher points to Lily’s pencil and asks: What’s that?

S: It’s a pencil.

T: Yes. It’s a pencil.Lily,that is your pencil.That is your pencil. (Write

your on the blackboard)

Teacher holds a boy’s ruler and asks: What’s this?

S: It’s a ruler .

T:Yes.This is his ruler. This is his ruler. (Write his on the blackboard)

Teacher points to a girl’s bag and asks: What’s that?

S:It’s a bag.

T:Yes.That is her bag. That is her bag. (Write her on the blackboard)

T: OK. This is my book. That is your pencil. This is his ruler. That is her

bag.Are you clear?

T:Tom,what’s this? S:This is your book.

T:Good.Linda,what’s that? S:That is his pencil.

T: Good. Tim,what’s this? S:This is her ruler.

T: Good. Mary,what’s that? S:That is my pen.

T: Excellent.

2. Teach the sentence structure This is/That’s my/your/his/her…,I

think.Yes, it is. /No, it isn’t.

Teacher gives her book to Mika and says:This is my book,I think.

S:Yes ,it is.

T:right. (Write this is…I think. yes, it is on the blackboard)

Teacher points to Mika’s ruler and says to Betty:That is your ruler,I

think.

S:no,it isn’t.

Teacher asks several students

Step 3 Practise

1. Work in pairs to practise the sentence structure

T: All of you do a good job.Now work in pairs.One student asks and the

other one answers.Let’s begin.

Teacher asks two pairs to act

T: Anyone who wants to have a try? How about xxx?

S: ……

T: Well done.

2. Practise the dialogues in the book

T:Now open your books. Turn to page 18.There are four pictures.Look

at picture 1.What can you see in the picture?

S:A boy ,a girl and a lion.

T:Yes.So the boy says this is your lion,I think.And the girl says

S:Yes,it is.

Y:Right.Please write it down.Look at picture 2. What can you see in

the picture?

S:Two girls and a monkey

T.:Yes.One girl says that is your monkey,I think.The other girl says

S:No,it isn’t.

T:Good,Picture three and four,discuss with your partner. Then I’ll ask

some of you to act.

Teacher asks two pairs to act.

T:Picture three.Who wants to have a try?

S1:This is his rabbit,I think. S2:Yes,it is.

Step 4 Production

T:Now,let’s play a game.Jake,come here.Turn back and close your

eyes.

T: who wants to give me something? A pencil,a book or something

else. David,could you give me something?

Teacher collects several things from the students and put them on the

desk.

T:Jake,turn back and open your eyes.look,there are many things. You

should guess whose are they.For example,I say this is my bear,I

think.Then the other students say yes,it is.Are you clear? Let’s begin.

Jack: ……

T: Well done.





Step 5 Assign homework

Copy the four dialogues in Part D for one time.
