WARNING – Read and understand this owner’s manual before
installing and
using the Lil’ Mynx dance pole.
CAUTION - Designed for use on carpeted floors
WARNING - This product is NOT for use on vaulted ceilings. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL ON ANY CEILING THAT IS
NOT PARALLEL TO THE FLOOR.
When installing be sure to leave enough room to swing around the
Lil’ Mynx without obstruction.
1) Measure ceiling height.
2) Use a stud finder or any other method you deem appropriate to
find a joist where you have decided to install the pole. This is a
wooden beam in your ceiling above the sheet rock. (figure 1)
DANGER – Failure to secure your ceiling spacer into a ceiling
joist will compromise the structural integrity of your pole, which
will result in serious injury. Consult a locally certified housing
repairman for installation help.(We recommend using a stud finder,
which can be found at any hardware store.)
WARNING – You must find a stud for mount or serious damage
will occur.
WARNING – Always use safety glasses when installing your
ceiling spacer.
3) After locating the joist, drill a hole with the bit supplied into the
joist. Drill all the way in until the drill bit disappears completely -
about 2.5 inches. (figure 2)
Note:
Make sure when you drill, saw dust is ejected from the hole. This
confirms that you are drilling into a joist.
4) Place the lag bolt through the metal hook base and then through
the plastic spacer. Mount as shown . Use Allen wrench to tighten
bolt into drilled hole. Use appropriate force to secure bolt. Be
careful not to overtighten or you will "strip" the threads in wood.
(figure 3)
5) Install the rubber feet on base by inserting machine screw
through rubber foot, then through hole in base, then through
washer, and then into cap nut. Tighten with screwdriver and pliers
(figure 4)
6) Next, insert slider tube into the top of the pole. Adjust the pole
length by inserting slider tube and turning while applying pressure
towards the foot of the pole. Adjust pole so that it is from 1 to 1.25
inches longer than the height of the ceiling. (Turn clockwise to
shorten, counter-clockwise to lengthen)
7) Install the pole by placing the top of the slider tube over the
mounting hook assembly. Once the slider tube is seated on the
ceiling mount push up to compress pole and slide pole to vertical
until floor mount is flat to floor. (figure 5)
8) Now take 2 steps back and look to see if the pole is straight up
and down. (figure 6) Then move 90 degrees and take another look.
Test the stability of the pole by applying successively higher
weight before using fully.
CAUTION – When using the pole, do not grab the slider tube.
Grabbing the slider tube will compress the pole causing the pole to
detach from the ceiling mount resulting in injury and or property
damage.
When you are finished you can remove and store the Lil’ Mynx
under your bed, in a closet or garage. Take care as to not scratch
the finish. Although the powder coating is extremely durable it
may still be damaged inadvertently.
