THE FUNCTION OF THE FIELD OPERATIONS OFFICE IS TO MANAGE A PROGRAM OF REGULATORY OVERSIGHT AND INSPECTION PURSUANT TO MEAT, POULTRY, AND EGG PRODUCTS LAWS TO ENSURE THAT COVERED PRODUCTS ARE SAFE, WHOLESOME, AND PROPERLY LABELED. IN THIS ROLE FIELD OPERATIONS PARTICIPATES IN THE PLANNING AND FORMULATION OF AGENCY POLICY; AND CARRIES OUT A NATIONWIDE FOOD SAFETY AND PUBLIC HEALTH ASSURANCE STRATEGY FOCUSED ON FOOD SAFETY AND SECURITY THROUGH A COMPLEX FIELD STRUCTURE.
