DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Within delegated authority, the x-ray technician will be responsible for the following duties:



• Perform X-ray procedures as required by Doctors;

• Ensure safety of the patients in performance of duty;

• Communicate with patients and update the doctors in the clinic;

• Keep good cooperation with private x-ray facilities.

• Insure the radiation safety limit through the safety testing service.

• Plans and Organizes preventive and promotive medical fairs;

• Refer staff to outside x-ray facilities as required.

• Co-operate with satellite clinic to provide x-ray services;

• Keep records and monthly statistics.

• Perform all related duties as required

• Maintain patient’s records and secure confidentiality.

• Collects articles for clinic newsletter

• Replace the paramedic drivers whenever needed





Work implies frequent interaction with the following:

• UNMIK HCC patients.

• Staff at large; staff within work unit;

• Private x-ray facilities.

• Control of radiation safety.





Result expected:

• High quality of x-ray services.

• Professionalism – Knowledge and hands on experience in x-ray work

• Planning and organizing – Ability to establish priorities and plan, co-ordinate and monitor own work plan.

• Teamwork – Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-

culture, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

• Communication- Good interpersonal and oral and written communication skills

• Commitment to continuous learning- willingness to learn to keep abreast of new development in the laboratory science.

• Technology awareness- Solid computer skills

For Managerial Positions:









QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: At least 8 years of experience as an x-ray Technician and knowledge of Basic life support. Experience with UN or

International health facility is highly desirable.









Education: Diploma as x-ray technician









Languages: Fluency in oral and written English; knowledge of second official UN language an advantage.

experience, the selection for this position is for a limited period and has no bearing on the future incumbency of the post.

been recruited after a competitive examination under staff rule 104.15 or after the advice of a Secretariat joint body under

staff rule 104.14. External applicants may be considered when it is not possible to identify suitable internal candidates of

the same department/office.
