MARCH Dear Parents,
$100 CLUB
WINNING Last week the P&C Association pleaded with parents to support the Meat Tray
TICKET Raffles at the Station Hotel on Friday nights. Money raised from the sale of tickets
NO 14 on these evenings is used to fund buses for school camps and excursions. Our
Fiona teachers have organised and planned the school camps for Years 3, 5 and 7
Whittington students this year. Year 3 students will travel to Forrest Beach, Year 5 students to
Darradgee and Year 7 students will camp at Tinaroo. As you know, Tinaroo and
Darradgee are quite a distance from our school and the cost of running a bus to
STATION
HOTEL and from these venues is expensive, however the camps have proven an
FRIDAY NIGHT excellent experience for our students in past years. Please support the Friday
RAFFLES night raffles as your assistance gives all children the opportunity to participate in a
This Friday very worthwhile learning experience out of the school environment.

Swimming
This is the last week for swimming this term. A BIG thank you to all those parents
who have helped out and to the students for being well behaved.
HRPSS Netball
Sunday & Monday next week, I will be taking (weather permitting) the Herbert River
Netball Team (which includes ISS girls - Riley Shand, Erica Musmarra, Georgia
Parker and Jessica Carey) to Charters Towers to compete for a place in the Nth Qld
Netball team. The girls have been training hard and we wish them good luck.
Until the oval dries out and the sun starts to shine - we are unable to start training
for Barnes Cup. Those who are super keen can start their own fitness training at
home to make sure they are ready for the event in May. In the meantime, students
will be participating in ball game practise as well as Bush Dancing.
