Rob Stringer's Intro to Washington
Rob Stringer is a retired Military Vet and a dedicated family man, with four children living
all over the United States.
Las Veags, Dec 14, 2011 -- December 14, 2011-A lover of rainy weather, Rob
Stringer decides that for one of his last stops on his country tour, he will visit Seattle,
Washington. Rob is a retired historian who truly loves visiting areas across the
country that holds the key of many historical events. After retiring, Rob kept his
promise to his late wife and ventured off on a road trip across the United States. He
has made plans to make the most of his trip in Seattle, spending a few days to soak up
the history and enjoy the local culture and the food.
Since he's a history buff, Rob Stringer is aware that in 1889 the great city of Seattle
burned down. The entire city was destroyed, but the residents regrouped and built the
city back up within a year. In doing so, they built right on top of the old city, which
was still charred beneath. Rob is walking through Seattle to see if he can point out
where the old remains are still visible. He is told of a tour - the Seattle Underground
Tour - which promises to be riveting, at the very least. Indeed, true to the tour guide's
word, Rob Stringer is nothing short of amazed as he walks upon old cobblestone
pavements and sees the remains of old storefronts.
Rob Stringer also takes up another famous Seattle attraction - the Space Needle. With
panoramic views, Rob finds that his breath is taken away the more he looks out the
windows. He takes many pictures for his touring album and cannot wait to show
them to his friends and family back at home. He does plan to return home one day, he
is just not sure when that day will come - he is having too much fun on the road.
One final stop that Rob Stringer wants to make before he ends his trip is to the
Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park. This museum pays tribute to the area
where the Gold Rush made headlines in 1897-1898 for the stampedes that took place
on a daily basis. Here at the museum, Rob finds many details about the gold rush that
he never knew, even as a historian. He takes part in the education classes offered on
the gold rush and its Seattle roots adding even more knowledge to his history filled
brain. He takes pictures to add with those from the Space Needle, as a remembrance
of his learning experience here in Seattle.
Although Seattle is famous for rainy weather, Rob has not experienced much rain at
all. Sure, it was overcast a lot, but very few drops actually fell from the sky. He
wonders if his late wife is watching over him as he takes on these tours and learning
experiences. After all, the trip is truly bittersweet without her beside him. As he starts

to leave Seattle behind, driving south through the state of Washington, he decides to
take the great Pacific Coast Highway that he always hears about. He figures he can
hit the wide-open road on his way down to California and onward.
