									The Purpose of Menstruation

For many women, menstruation is one of the most annoying things about
being female. However, your period represents vitality and fertility, and
it prepares your body to make unique life through a fertilized egg.
Menstruation is a very primary and very visible fraction of the overall
menstrual cycle experienced by women over the course of 28 days.

Menstruation, commonly called a period, is often preceded by things like
cramps, bloating, constipation, and irritability. Some women suffer from
premenstrual syndrome, or PMS, which includes rude moodiness. On the
other hand, some women have reported an increase in energy, sexual drive,
and feelings of relief before the inaugurate of their periods.

First, it is indispensable to understand the source of the blood from
menstruation. One of the necessary internal female reproductive
components is the uterus. The uterus is where an egg implants so that a
baby can grow and form inside the womb. As hormones promote the
development and release of eggs, they also stimulate the thickening of
the uterine lining. This prepares the uterus to receive a fertilized egg.

After ovulation, an egg lives for about 12-24 hours while it waits to
meet sperm. If it is not fertilized and implanted in the uterus, then
other hormones cause the uterus to shed its lining. This is the blood in
menstruation. Most women's periods last 3-7 days as the lining is lost
and then rebuilt. This shedding and rebuilding allows for the uterus to
finish recent and nourishing for any potential pregnancy.

With oral contraceptives, the hormones in these pills can benefit you
regulate your period. However, some of the hormones in birth control can
disrupt other considerable organs in your body. Birth control pills like
YAZ, Yasmin, and Ocella have been linked to problems like stroke, heart
