Agenda / Discussion
1. The meeting minutes will be approved at the June meeting. The officers have the
meeting minutes for March and April.
a. MAYS Update – in two weeks the MAYS meetings for the fall will start.
The MUYSA registrations are usually due by June 15th to allow time to
develop preliminary rosters by the end of June. The MAYS preliminary
rosters for the fall are usually due in the end of June. The final dates will
be provided after Keith Jackson attends the MAYS meeting.
b. Other Updates – Double check the score at the end of each game. The
Referee will write the score on the bottom of the opposing team’s roster.
There have been a few instances where the scores have been incorrect.
i. Grover Field – Good shape for the season. Field is used for U12
and above. Will be used for all 11v11 games. Continue to let the
opposing team coaches know that parking is only allowed on one
side of the street and to obey posted parking signs.
ii. Clough School – Lined for an 8v8 field. There is no storage at
Clough, the Hood Shed will be used for storage. There was a
game there last night. The opposing coach and the referee were
disgusted with the field. The field needs work. Gordon Scott has
sent an email the Mendon Parks department to have a discussion of
the field condition added to the Mendon Parks departments next
iii. West River – The field is still young. It was slice seeded last fall.
Please continue to try and practice off to the sides of the field.
iv. West River Field – Field Coordinator: Mike Brodeur. Should be
OK for the fall.
v. Nipmuc Practice Field – The field is used for U10’s. On June 3rd,
there will be no access to the field until after 2:00pm.
d. Soccer Ball Handout – Dean Bank wants to provide a soccer ball the each
player in the league. Ken Perregaux is coordinating. A representative

from the bank will be stopping by your practice in the next two weeks to
give out balls. This is a great donation to our club.
e. Soccer Kids for Cancer - Tom Conley provided that his team was
involved with raising money for Soccer Kids for Cancer and wanted them
to have some publicity in local papers an on the web site. Tom also asked
if any local companies donate to these types of causes. Tom was provided
a Haley Violet as a contact for Dean Bank.
Tom Fichtner motioned to have an article for the Soccer Kids for Cancer and their
pictures put on the MUYSA web site, and to contact the Town Crier and Milford Daily
News to cover the players fund raising efforts. The motion was amended by Mike
Brodeur to only have the article posted on the website. The motion was seconded by
Bobby Burke. The motion passed unanimously.
a. Tryouts / Jamboree Day – The U12 girls will have tryouts for the fall
season. The U10’s will have a Jamboree Day. The date is still
undetermined. The coordinators for U10 and U8 will set up the Jamboree
b. Registrations – These registrations have to get started soon. Mike Brodeur
will email all current players and eligible players that have are not signed
up for the last two seasons that are in our database. Mike Brodeur will
also notify the Town Crier and drop off registration forms at the schools.
There is also a possibility of having a picture day at the Upton Fireworks.
Currently, 562 players for the spring season. Mike Brodeur has prepared
a commendation for Danielle Schimp to recognize her efforts in helping
with the MUYSA database. The letter will be signed from the MUYSA
NOTE: CORI forms are required for any person coaching, volunteering, or in any way
affiliated with the MUYSA. Coordinators are asked to reconcile there coach and
volunteer lists with the database. If anyone has any questions, please contact Mike
i. U10 Travel – U10 travel will continue in the fall season. There
are 160 players in U10.
ii. U9’s that don’t want to travel joining U8’s – No action was taken
on this item. The numbers in the fall will have to be looked at
first. Accommodations will be made if a request is issued by a
c. Fields (Discussions for Spring):
i. Grover Field – Field Coordinator: Ed Mullarkey. Will be used for
all 11v11 games. May also be lined for 8v8 if needed.
ii. Hood Field – Field Coordinator: Pete Bloznalis. Will be used for
the U8 program.

iii. West River Field – Field Coordinator: Dave Adams. Will be used
for the U10 program.
iv. Clough School – Field Coordinator: Mike Poe. Not sure if it will
be available in the fall. Ken Perregaux will request.
v. Miscoe Hill – May not have access due to football. Ken Perregaux
vi. Memorial School Field – Ken Perregaux will request for the fall.
It could be used for a U10 field.
vii. Kiwanis Field – the field is seeded and the irrigation system is
installed. MYUSA will continue to work with the Upton Parks
and Rec committee to determine if it will be available in the fall.

4. Website Update
a. Banner for other sites – Matt Collins provided he will make links to the
John Smith Sports Center, the Habitat for Sports, the Rose Garden Café,
and summer camp options.
b. Community Relations Page – Matt Collins will make a Community
Relations page on the website. This section will be dynamic and will
change has news from the club is generated. Initially it will contain:
i. Kick for Cancer
ii. Scholarship Information
iii. Field Fertilization Program paid by MUYSA
iv. Teams going to tournaments.
5. Equipment Update:
a. Equipment Coordinator – Chris Schimp presented a jacket with the
MUYSA logo on the front. The jackets cost $22.00 for a child size and
$28.00 for an adult size.
Ken Perregaux motioned to sell the children’s jackets for $25.00 and the adult jackets
for $35.00. The motion was seconded by Lou Carreiro. The motion passed
Chris will coordinate the best method to purchase the jackets.

b. Participation Awards – the sports bottles are here tonight, please pick them
up for your team after the meeting.
c. Uniforms – The Soccer Spot will continue to provide uniforms. The
Soccer Spot marks up the uniforms 100%. There is no cost to the club for
having the Soccer Spot administer the uniforms. We could cut down on
the price of a uniform if the club coordinated the sale of the uniforms.
This would require a Uniform Coordinator. This may be able to be
coordinated through the registration day stated last spring. Additional
details with the vendors would have to be worked out. This warrants
future discussion at meetings.
6. Scholarship Committee Update – Applications are in. There are 11 total applications.
No applications came from BVT. One award is decided, the second one will be
decided shortly. There will be two $500.00 scholarships, one male and one female.
7. Coaches Education – nothing new to report. Mike Poe is getting ready for additional
training for the fall season. Note: the Gary Crompton Youth Soccer Day Camp
(Camp 101) will be held in the last week of July, Monday through Thursday. This
camp has been well received in the past by players and parents.
8. Referee Coordinator – Chris Wojtowicz is doing an excellent job coordinating the
referee’s, especially with all the rain dates to schedule around. Great job Chris!
9. Elections in June – The following positions will be up for election in June:
2. Vice President (New position)
The Registrar and Treasurer have one more year before these positions are up for
election. To be eligible to vote, you have to attend 2 of the last 3 meeting MUYSA
10. Other Items:
a. The Town Crier will post meeting notices for free for non-profit groups.
Mike Brodeur will contact the Crier to notify them of future MUYSA
b. Unite Way – if your company is sponsoring a United Way campaign,
please consider earmarking part of your donation to MYUSA. It is one of
the selections in this area.
11. Next Meeting Date – June 6th, 7:15, Rose Garden Café.

Don Morin. The motion passed unanimously.
