Ancient Egyptian Final Project
This project will assess your ability to research and construct a tomb fit for a
pharaoh. You will participate in the following two activities to complete this project.
1. Pharaoh Biography. Your mission is to research a pharaoh who ruled in Ancient
Egypt. Ideas for pharaoh’s include:
Akhenaten - Learn about the pharaoh that shocked people in his time.
Amenhotep III - This pharaoh ruled during a peaceful time and beautified Egypt.
Cleopatra - Read her incredible story and find out what she did to maintain her
power as pharaoh.
Hatshepsut - This lady was full of ambition and dressed like a pharaoh to preserve
her dominance.
Khufu - The Pharaoh responsible for the only wonder of the world standing, the
Great Pyramid.
King Tut (Tutankhamun) - Come see the virtual tomb of the boy pharaoh and
much more.
Ramses II - This great Pharaoh had a huge lifespan during his time. Find out what
made him so spectacular.
Snefru - Read about the pharaoh that was responsible for so many pyramids.
Write a biography about the pharaoh that you chose. (At least 3 paragraphs-10 sentences
each). Be sure to include when the pharaoh was born, what their life was like, years of
their reign, significant events in the pharaoh’s reign and your opinion. “Do you think
he/she was a great leader?”
2. Design and build a tomb for your pharaoh. View some of the links on our classroom
webpage under “Egypt”. These will give you tours and blueprints of the tomb. I expect
high quality on the pharaoh tombs. BE CREATIVE AND THINK OUTSIDE OF THE
BOX. Make sure the tomb interior reflects the pharaoh’s beliefs (think about their
religion), and events in his/her biography. Be sure to place items in the tomb of the
pharaoh such as belongings and riches. Also, design a burial mask for the pharaoh.
