“This Napa Valley chard is a charmer. The aromas show smoky oak, with
apricot, apple and vanilla notes. The flavours hint of complexity with
tropical pineapple and apple spice notes that linger nicely. A really solid
house white. Food suggestion: Chicken in pineapple teriyaki sauce.”

4 stars (out of 5)
“Apple and pear aromas stream through to the palate expressing themselves
as crisp green apple and ripe Bosc pear. You’ll also find hints of vanilla and
spice. It’s lightly-textured, but the core of flavour lasts completely through
the medium length finish. A lean- and clean-styled Chardonnay, this earned
its final half star on price. Pair with seared scallops under a light drizzle of
lemon.”

“In 1873, Jean Laurent emigrated to the Napa Valley from Bordeaux. He
bought property in St. Helena and quarried rock out of the base of Glass
Mountain to build his wine cellar. A century later, businessman Bruce
Markham purchased the property and created Markham Wines. His Glass
Mountain label offers the winery’s same attention to quality but with an
emphasis on value. Look for delicate, tropical fruit aromas and flavours
with creamy, toasty oak notes. Enjoy with steamed mussels or pasta
primavera.”

“Glass Mountain Makeover
Glass Mountain wines are getting a new look and a new price point as the
brand is relaunched nationwide. Glass Mountain debuted in 1994. The
brand’s new slogan will compel consumers to “Get into the Glass.”
A redesigned label now emphasizes the connection with Markham
Vineyards, with the phrase “by Markham” below the Glass Mountain name.
The label also features an image of vine rows stretching to the horizon,
replacing the mountain image on the previous label. New design elements
continue through all marketing materials, and two new taglines are being
incorporated into Glass Mountain’s promotion. The supplemental teaser
“Nice Glass” is being used to grab consumer attention via case cards and
table tents, supporting the main tagline, “Glass Mountain. Get into the
Glass.”
The Glass Mountain line of wines includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Syrah and Chardonnay, all of which bear a California appellation. Glass
Mountain is marketed by Paterno Wines International, and the new
suggested retail price is $7.99.”

Producer
Glass Mountain strives to produce a Chardonnay that stays true to style
vintage after vintage. We start with exceptional fruit sources that we have
been using for decades. Focusing on the delicate tropical fruit, we employ
both traditional barrel fermentation techniques combined with cold tank
fermentation for a balance of creamy, toasty oak and crisp, fresh fruit
aromas and flavors. Our goal is to bring you a wine that you not only enjoy
