FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PACESETTING HDMI OVER IP GIGABIT VIDEO DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FROM AUDIO AUTHORITY
Lexington, Kentucky, April 30, 2010 –Audio Authority Corporation (www.audioauthority.com), an
acknowledged leader in Cat 5 based video distribution technology, announces its revolutionary 2800
series HDMI over IP video distribution system. The system, set to ship in May 2010, promises to be a
pacesetting solution for digital signage and other video distribution applications. One 1080p HDMI source
can be distributed to 127 HDTVs with exceptional picture quality and reliability, and uses only a single Cat
5e/6 cable for signal transmission. Pending enhancements to the system will add matrix switching
capabilities.
Benefiting from the latest Gigabit high speed data technology, this IP solution leapfrogs other HDMI over
IP products that deliver noticeably compressed picture. It provides significantly improved reliability and
faster handshake speed compared to traditional HDMI distribution systems that use standard HDMI
cabling or balun extenders. With picture quality that will please even the most discerning enthusiast, and
the reliability that installers demand, 2800 series opens a new world of no-compromise HDMI
installations.
“There’s simply no better way to distribute 1080p content. We understand the need for exceptional
picture quality and bulletproof reliability in installations, and sought to market a product that delivers HDMI
picture quality with component video reliability. This is a system without compromise,” said Trent Davis,
Audio Authority’s product manager.
“Furthermore, it’s a true ‘plug and play’ system. For point to point and one-to-many installations, there’s
no programming or setup required. Installers just need to hook up a source and power on the system –
everything is automatic from there.”
The 2800 series consists of the Model 2801, which is a single-source transmitter, and the Model 2811, a
single-output receiver. The system can be expanded using off-the-shelf Gigabit Ethernet routers to
support up to 127 HDTVs. The system complies fully with the latest HDCP specification, version 2.0, and
utilizes 128 bit AES encryption.
Audio Authority plans to introduce a matrix-switching enabled version of the system later this year. The
3800 series, as it will be known, will support numerous sources and an almost unlimited number of HDTV
displays.
