Grade Level Team Meeting Agenda
Before School Starts (August/September)
Purpose: Discuss effectiveness of instruction from previous year and preview data from
last year for incoming cohort of students.
Discuss Effectiveness of Instruction from Previous School Year
Review Summary of Effectiveness Chart from previous year’s students, including
information on GOM, MAP, and MCAII data
Discuss curriculum and instruction effectiveness from previous school year:
Did we meet last year’s grade level goals?
Where did we start and stop in the curriculum?
What chapters/units were completed or skipped?
What chapters/units covered skills what were most challenging?
What additional materials or programs were used for core instruction?
What supplemental supports were available last year?
Preview Last Year’s Data for Incoming Cohort
Review Summary of Effectiveness Chart for Incoming grade level students:
Is this group likely to need less/same/more intensity of core instruction than our
group last year?
Identify modal rit bands for MAP sub-strands, and note score distribution. Review
DesCartes Learning Continuum for these: How will these needs be met in the
core curriculum?
Plan 1-3 standard intervention options that would address common concerns at this
grade level.
Record these plans as standard treatment protocols
o What is/are the area(s) of focus for the standard intervention options?
(i.e., fluency, word recognition, comprehension, content writing, etc)
o Who will teach the group?
o When will the intervention be delivered?
o What resources are needed?
Discuss the basis for selecting students for these interventions
Discuss logistics of intervention delivery (time, space, people)
Discuss what you plan to do this year to challenge your highest skilled students

Grade Level Team Meeting Agenda
After Fall Benchmark Screening (September or October)
Purpose: Review Fall Benchmark Screening Data and Plan Instruction
Review Fall GOM benchmark data and Fall MAP data
Do the reports reflect the correct group of students?
Is the color coding correct on the reports?
Tier 1 and above should be green (At or above Tier 1 target)
Tier 2 should be yellow (At or above Tier 2 target but below Tier 1 target)
Tier 3 should be red (Below Tier 2 target)
What percentage of students fall in Tier 1?
What percentage of students fall in Tier 2?
What percentage of students fall in Tier 3?
Establish an end of year team goal to work toward for the percentage of students you would like to
see in each tier based on assessment data
Note that districts also have growth goals for students on MAP in addition to this team
goal
If the percentage of students in tier 1 is below 80%, discuss grade level wide opportunities to making
core program more robust for this cohort (how to best use core instructional time for all students)
Identify the initial list of students who should be monitored more frequently than 3x per year using
fluency measures (typically every student scoring below target on fall measures
Identify the initial list of students who will participate in a standard intervention
Make updates as needed to standard treatment protocols
Content covered in intervention?
Discuss the basis for selecting students for these interventions
Who will teach the group?
When will interventions be delivered? For how much time?
What resources are needed?
How will intervention integrity be ensured?
Match these students with the most appropriate intervention choice based on their
similar instructional needs
Consider other data you may have regarding these students to assist with
decision making (e.g., within curriculum data)
Document interventions in AIMSweb and RtI Database (seek administrative support if
necessary)
Share plans with building administration
