ROLLING V BUS CORP AND GERSHOWITZ TRANSPORTATION
ENCOURAGE PARENTS AND CHILDREN TO “LOVE THE BUS”
Sullivan County-based companies embrace national school bus safety campaign
South Fallsburg, N.Y. – February 18, 2011 – Rolling V Bus Corp. and Gershowitz
Transportation, both Sullivan County-based bus transportation companies, are
encouraging young riders and parents to “Love the Bus,” and continue to practice safe
school bus procedures going into the New Year.
“Love the Bus,” an initiative founded in 2007 and coordinated by the American School
Bus Council (ASBC), is celebrated on Valentine’s Day and throughout February in
school districts across the country as a way to raise awareness and appreciation for the
hundreds of thousands of school bus drivers who safely transport more than 26 million
school children to and from school each day. It is also an opportunity for parents and
children to learn more about the safety and environmental benefits of school bus
transportation.
Rolling V and Gershowitz currently transport more than 8,000 students on 250 buses
throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions.
“Rolling V and Gershowitz want to honor its bus drivers that safely take the children in
its community to school each day, said President Phil Vallone. “This is a great
opportunity to thank the people that protect our most precious cargoour childrenand serve
as role models on the 480,000 school buses that transport children safely to and from
school each day across the country.”
To help celebrate Love the Bus, parents, teachers and children are encouraged to visit the
program's Web site, www.LoveTheBus.com, to share stories about their favorite bus
drivers, and make interactive valentines to email or print and give to their bus driver on
Valentine’s Day,
February 14. Educators also may log on to the website to download an educator’s toolkit,
which provides details on incorporating Love The Bus into their lesson plans and offers
best practices for communicating about pupil transportation.
Throughout February, the American School Bus Council and its members will hold a
series of local events across the United States to educate parents and children about
school bus safety.

Rolling V and Gershowitz tout impeccable safety records: .0001 chargeable accidents per
1,000,000 miles. That is due to a strong educational component for its riders and strict
driver training programs.
Vallone added, “As a result of New York State’s biannual bus inspections in 2009, we
scored a 97.2 percent passing rate- one of the highest in the state. Our strong policy of
safety first - with our drivers, mechanics, and our students - made us one of the safest
school bus transportation companies in the state. We plan on keeping it that way.”
Rolling V and Gershowitz currently provide student transportation for Ellenville,
Fallsburg, Liberty, Livingston Manor, Roscoe and Tri-Valley school districts.
Rolling V and Gershowitz are proud members of the New York School Bus Contractors
Association and the American School Bus Council. The companies are family-owned and
operated by the Vallone and DeSabato families. The Vallone family has been in the
passenger transportation business for more than 50 years.
