FRCs Tony Perkins Joins Hurricane Gustav Relief Efforts Yesterday, Family Research Council President and Louisiana resident and former state elected official, Tony Perkins left the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, MN to make preparations for the landfall of Hurricane Gustav. Tony is helping with local relief efforts with PRC Compassion (www.prccompassion.org) a charitable coalition of churches, pastors and local faith and community-based organizations. "There is no question that the Bush Administration and the Jindal Administration in Louisiana are on top of this storm. The preparations that have been made and the coordination with churches that has taken place prior to Gustav's arrival far surpass what took place three years ago with Katrina. I have communicated with Governor Jindal's office and I am encouraged that every possible preparation is being made for this storm," Perkins said. Perkins added that he was also impressed by Senator McCain's visible concern for those in the path of the storm and asked that other Americans pray for those impacted by the storm and those providing emergency and relief services. Tony Perkins is available for comment from Baton Rouge this week. FRC spokesmen are also available all week in St. Paul, Minnesota during the Republican National Convention.
