Eldersburg Elementary School PTA Scholarship – Deadline: March 31, 2011. Award: $1,000. Eligibility:
Graduating Seniors who are former Eldersburg Elementary students, having attended Eldersburg Elem. at least 3
years. Must have completed 5th grade at Eldersburg Elementary. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and attending an
accredited college as a full time student in the Fall of 2011.
McDaniel College Scholarships – Deadline: February 15, 2011. Multiple McDaniel scholarships are available
ranging from $9,000 to full tuition. When application to McDaniel College is received by February 15, 2011,
students are automatically considered for scholarships. Application information is available by contacting Lisa

Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholars Program – Deadline: March 31, 2011. Award: One $10,000 (over
4 years). Eligibility: Graduating senior who is a MD resident and plans to attend an accredited college or
university as a full-time student in an approved engineering program; minimum SAT of 1700 or ACT of 27,
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Apply online at www.es.northropgrumman.com/engscholars.
Maryland PTA Scholarship – Deadline: March 15, 2011. Award: One $500 scholarship. Eligibility:
Commitment to a career in Education, financial need, and academic record. Application is available in the
Counseling Center.
ARC of Carroll County - Timothy J. Atkinson Memorial Scholarship – Deadline: April 1, 2011. Award:
$1,000. Eligibility: Enter a field that will assist or advocate for people with disabilities, must be a Carroll County
resident, accepted to a full-time accredited college or university in pursuit of a related degree. Application is
available in the Counseling Center.
Student-View Scholarship Program – Deadline: April 22, 2011. Award: One $4,000; Two $1,000; and Eight
$500. This award is done as a random drawing. Apply online at www.student-view.com.
John T. McCraw Scholarship Program 2011-2012 National Federation of the Blind of MD – Deadline:
April 20, 2011. Eligibility: Blind students exhibiting academic achievement and community involvement and
MD resident. Application is available in the Counseling Center.
Carroll Hospital Center – Deadline: April 1, 2011. Award: One $1,000. Eligibility: Students who have chosen
to continue their education in a health-related area; i.e., clinical and non clinical disciplines in a Healthcare
related field. Application is available in the Counseling Center.
Thomas S. George Memorial Award for Architectural Students – Deadline: April 15, 2011. Award: One
$500. Eligibility: Student who will attend college to pursue a degree in architecture. Application is available in
the Counseling Center.
George K. Miles Memorial Award for Civil Engineering Students – Deadline: April 15, 2011. Award: One
$500. Eligibility: Student who will attend college to pursue a degree in civil engineering. Application is available
in the Counseling Center.
Carroll County Farm Bureau 2011 Scholarship Application – Deadline: May 1, 2011. Award: Two $2,000.
Eligibility: Applicant or parent(s)/guardian(s) must be members of the Carroll County Farm Bureau. High school
senior starting college in the fall of 2011. Preference will be given to an agriculture major, the second scholarship
will be given to any major. Application is available in the Counseling Center.
Tevis Arts Scholarship – Deadline: April 22, 2011. Award: $750.00. Eligibility: Student planning to major in
the arts with artistic promise and demonstrated financial need. Art includes: Vocal and instrumental music, music
education, performance, music theory, composition, art, art history, arts education, creative writing, drama,
theatre, media arts, film studies, dance, photography, graphic design, costume design, architecture, interior design
and animation. Application is available in the Counseling Center.
Previously Announced:
Athletic Booster Scholarship – Deadline: April 29, 2011. South Carroll Athletic Booster Club will be awarding one female and one male student a
$1,000 scholarship. Eligibility: SCHS senior in good standing and a member of the Athletic Booster Club. Athletic participation during your high
school career is a prerequisite for this scholarship; however, current athletic participation is not required. Application is available in the Counseling
Center.

CCEA Membership Scholarship Grant – Deadline: March 31, 2011. Eligibility: Child or grandchild of a current, retired or deceased CCEA member
regardless of recipient’s educational goals or place of residence. Application is available in the Counseling Center.

CCEA Future Teacher Scholarship Grant – Deadline: March 31, 2011. Eligibility: Any CCPS student entering college with a major in education.
Application is available in the Counseling Center.

The Former Students and Friends of Robert Moton High School, Inc Scholarships – Deadline: April 30, 2011. Two scholarships (1) George M.
Crawford Scholarship - $3,000 and (2) Former Students and Friends of Robert Moton High School Scholarship - $2,000. Criteria: African American
student graduating from a Carroll County high school. Application and information is available in the Counseling Center.

Dwight P. Jacobus Scholarship – Deadline: March 1, 2011. Award: Four $1,000 awards. Eligibility: Students pursuing a career in business or
education living in MD or the District of Columbia for at least one year preceding the award date, demonstrated financial need, minimum 3.0
cumulative GPA, and accepted at an accredited college/university within Maryland or the District of Columbia. Application is available in the
Counseling Center.

Greater Carroll Lions Club Scholarship – Deadline: March 23, 2011. Award: $1,000. Eligibility: College bound student who is devoted to
academics, extracurricular activities and community. Application is available in the Counseling Center.

First Financial Federal Credit Union 2011 Scholarship – Deadline: March 1, 2011. One $3,000 award to a SCHS graduating senior. Criteria:
Member with First Financial Federal Credit Union at the time of application; minimum GPA of 2.5; and community involvement. Application is
available in the Counseling Center and online at www.firstfinancial.org. Completed application MUST be returned to the Counseling Center before
3:00 p.m. on March 1, 2011.

Baltimore Ravens Scholarship – Deadline: March 1, 2011. Award: Five $5,000 scholarships. At least one scholar will be chosen from the following
areas: Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County. Eligibility: High school senior attending Baltimore County or Carroll County public high
schools, cumulative 3.0 GPA or better; demonstrate financial need; be accepted to and plan to attend a 4-year college or university; and have verifiable
community service. Required: 2 reference letters, a 1-2 page essay, and application. Must complete application online at
http://scholarships.mycbf.net/STARS. Application information is also available in the Counseling Center.

Delmarva Farmer Scholarship – Deadline: March 1, 2011. Ten $1,000 scholarship awards. Criteria: Scholarships are available to members of farm
families, to those employed in an ag-related field; and/or to those who are studying for a career in agriculture. Must prepare an original essay
describing your career plans, financial need, and a response to one of the given topics. Application is available in the Counseling Center and online at
www.americanfarm.com.

American Legion Auxiliary Gold Star Unit 191, Mt. Airy, MD – Deadline: April 1, 2011. Awards: Two $1,000 General Scholarships and One
$1,000 Nursing Scholarship. Eligibility: US citizen, MD resident, with preference given to veterans’ children. Awarded on the following basis:
Character, Americanism, Leadership, Scholarship, and Basis of need. Application is available in the Counseling Center.

Carroll County NAACP Branch 7014 Continuing Education Award 2010-2011 – Deadline: April 9, 2011. Award: $1,000. Eligibility: Applicant is
a minority student of African American descent, academic achievement (cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or greater), acceptance in a college,
university or certified trade school as a full time student for Fall 2011, and active in school/community activities. Application is available in the
Counseling Center.

Rotary Club – Sykesville South Carroll – Deadline: April 15, 2011. $1,000 each to 3 students from South Carroll, Liberty or Century. Eligibility:
Carroll County Resident, accepted into a post-secondary education program (special consideration will be given to students electing to attend a
vocational technical school), community service, and minimum GPA of 2.5. Application is available in the Counseling Center and online at
www.rotary-sykesville.com.

Jewish Community Services – Scholarship for Jewish Students from Single-Parent Homes 2011 – Deadline:
March 18, 2011. Eligibility: Jewish student from a single-parent home who is pursuing higher education at an accredited U.S. college or university.
Criteria: Financial need, academic performance, community and school involvement, and letters of recommendation. Application is available online at
www.jcsbaltimore.org and in the Counseling Center.

Jewish Community Services – Newhoff Scholarship 2011 – Deadline: March 18, 2011. Eligibility: Jewish student with a diagnosed learning
disability. Criteria: Financial need, academic performance, community and school involvement, and letters of recommendation. Application is
available online at www.jcsbaltimore.org and in the Counseling Center.

Kamryn Lambert Foundation – Deadline: April 16, 2011. Nursing scholarship for a graduating Maryland high school senior. Application is
available in the Counseling Center. All materials need to be submitted to the Counseling Center by the deadline.

Masonic Charities of Maryland, Inc. Educational Grant – Deadline: March 31, 2011. Award: $1,000. Criteria: Graduating senior planning to attend
an accredited 2 or 4 year college institution or vocational training; must be U.S. Citizen and resident of Maryland. Application is available in the
