PROGRAM BOXES
PROGRAM BOXES
Birds Program Box
Birds are all around us, but how often do we stop to admire their beauty, listen to
their song, or wonder about their unique abilities. Help Girl Scouts appreciate and
learn about birds in their own backyards through the information, supplies, and
activities in this program box. Activities available for all Girl Scout age-levels.
Compass Skills Program Box
A compass is a navigational instrument for finding direction on the earth. It consists
of a magnetized pointer free to align itself accurately with the earth’s magnetic field,
which is of great assistance in navigation. This specialized program will help girls
learn how to use a compass through games provided in this program box. Activities
available for all Girl Scout age-levels.
Explore Nature Program Box
The study of the interactions between plants, animals (including people), and their
environment is called ecology. The science of ecology helps us to understand how
energy, photosynthesis, food chains, and many other interactions fit together. Show
your Girl Scouts the wonder of nature through exploration with the activities for all
age-levels provided within this program box.
GirlBIZ Program Box
At some point, someone had an idea to make something better than or different from
what was already in the marketplace. One thing led to another and that new idea
grew into a multi-million dollar company and brand name that is now recognized
around the world. Using this program box, Girl Scouts learn how they could be the
next innovator in today’s marketplace. Modules are designed for girls, ages 11-17.
Recycle Program Box
“Recycling” means separating, collecting, processing, and ultimately using a material
that would have been thrown away. These materials are reused or remanufactured
into new products. Many new products are being made from recovered materials.
Let this program box assist in teaching your Girl Scouts the importance and ease of
recycling in their own homes and communities. Activities available for all Girl Scout
age-levels.
Rocks and Minerals Program Box
A geologist spends a great deal of time studying rocks in an effort to understand the
way the earth was formed and all the natural and human-made forces that affect our
planet. Give your girls a taste of what it is like to be a geologist and learn the make-
up of rocks, minerals, fossils, and continents. Activities available for all Girl Scout
age-levels.
