Senior’s Progress

Your life is full of trials and tribulations already, and warning upcoming students about the traps,

temptations, and pitfalls of your senior year would certainly be merited. Of course, underclassmen

rarely take advice when they perceive it as such, and so the challenge is to present it in an entertaining,

yet easily understandable manner. Your assignment, therefore, is to write an allegory of your senior

year.

You are to create allegory which covers your senior year from beginning to end. You must include at

least five real life impediments and/or assets seniors must deal with and methods for surmounting the

negative and utilizing the positive, but they must be presented in metaphorical manner as befits the

allegorical story you are telling. This must be told as a narrative, cohesive story. You cannot present any

of the information in a literal manner, but it should be obvious what you are referring to.

Be creative—don’t simply regurgitate the journey of Bunyan’s pilgrims.

Follow the regular writing guidelines (i.e., MLA format). You will upload this story via Blackboard in a

link in the 17th Century section of the site. Name your document (first initial)(Last Name)_allegory.***
