Hospice of the Rapidan is the leading non-profit community hospice serving all of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock
Counties. They provide compassionate and dignified end-of-life care for terminally ill patients and their families, including comprehensive medical
care and emotional, social, spiritual and grief support. Hospice of the Rapidan focuses on caring, not curing, under the premise that each of us is
treated with dignity, surrounded by family and loved ones with the support of caring professionals. Hospice of the Rapidan cares for patients of all
ages and diagnoses, and throughout their 27 year history it has been their policy to care for every
patient who qualifies for hospice regardless of their ability to pay.
Hospice of the Rapidan cares for most patients in the familiar comfort of their homes, but
also serves patients in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and area hospitals. However,
the need for a hospice residence is great and Hospice of the Rapidan is launching a fundraising
campaign to build “Our House”, the first and only residential hospice house located in the area.
Specially designed to meet the needs of patients nearing the end of life, Our House will provide
comprehensive, around the clock medical, physical, emotional, and spiritual care for patients and
comprehensive support services for family members in a peaceful home-like setting. For more
information about Our House, contact Karen Quanbeck, Director of Development at 540-825-4840
