Below, you will find information for the Student Ambassador Program for 2011-2012 school
year. Please read all the information provided.
The formal application process for the 2011-12 school year is October 3-7, 2011. If you are
interested in the ABC Student Ambassador program, please contact Jocelyn Spriggs at (501)
244-5104 or Janay Palmer at (501) 244-5186 or please visit the Office of Admissions.
The Arkansas Baptist College Student Ambassadors are student positions and participants will
receive stipends per semester served through the Office of Admissions. The group consists of
approximately 12 students who assist in the promotion of Arkansas Baptist College to
prospective students, their parents, the high school guidance community, and the community
The goals of the Ambassadors are to:
Inform prospective students and parents interested in Arkansas Baptist College about all
facets of Arkansas Baptist College life, academic programs, faculty and students,
physical facilities, social opportunities, and student services.
Assist with important public relations programs such as college days, freshman
orientations, and other school related events.
Personalize the College by making campus visitors feel welcome, comfortable, and
positive about ABC by demonstrating sincerity, enthusiasm, credibility, interest, and
Activities of the Ambassadors include:
Representing Arkansas Baptist College, by giving campus tours to college visitors.
Making presentations about Arkansas Baptist College at high schools.
Participating in ABC’s Fall and Spring Convocation programs, etc.
Assisting, as needed, at special recruitment events that occur throughout the year.
Attending training sessions.
Special events for members such as holiday parties, end-of-year receptions, and social
Membership in the Arkansas Baptist College Student Ambassador Program is limited. Selection
o Students must currently have and maintain a 2.5 GPA or better
o Students must reside in campus housing provided by the College
o Students must currently uphold good standing with the College (academics and
Dedication to the group and ability to commit necessary time
Sincere desire to represent Arkansas Baptist College
Effective speaking ability
Ability to make a positive first impression
Ability to adapt to a variety of situations
Ability to work well with others
Enthusiasm about Arkansas Baptist College
Although hard work and commitment are required, much of the individual participation in
activities can be worked around Ambassadors’ class and study schedules.
