   Seal is located further out

   Washer first, then shaft seal.
   Sealing lip and dust protection lip are
   running on a new, un-damaged area
   further in the pump. Replace shaft is
   not necessary.

         by flow and pressure pulsation
     influenced mainly by power unit / system builder

       •   Primary cause pulsation
            Pulsating internal forces
            4 or 5 pistons under pressure, varies with piston frequency (225 Hz @ 1500
               rpm)
            Eg. PV046: At 350 bar, the force per piston is 8000N, which means force
               pulsating from 32 to 40kN at 225Hz. For PV270 the force per piston is
               26500N.

      PV plus Noise reduction - Housing optimization



•   Added material to make the housing more
    rigid – less movement reduces noise.

•   A rigid housing does not solve the problem
    completely, a rigid housing has a higher
    natural frequency and sounds bad.

•   The solution is to tune the housing to deform
    in a predictable way.
