Submission of a self reported GRE or GMAT test score is a requirement to be considered for admission. We do not average test scores, we
take the highest score achieved from each individual section if the test is taken multiple times. On the application please report the name
of the exam taken (GRE or GMAT), the date it was taken, and the scores achieved.

WE DO NOT REQUIRE THAT AN OFFICIAL TEST SCORE BE SENT TO OUR OFFICE IN ORDER TO CONSIDER AN APPLICANT FOR ADMISSION.
We ask that you self report your test scores to be considered for admission. If an applicant is admitted to the program and chooses to
enroll, the applicant must arrange for the official test report(s) to be sent to the Office of Admissions prior to enrolling. Please note that
the Admissions Committee reserves the right to reverse an admission decision if the self reported scores do not match official scores sent
by the testing agencies.

We encourage applicants to list our test code when taking the GRE or GMAT. Our GRE code is 2161, no department code is necessary for
GRE reporting to SIPA. If taking the GMAT the MIA code is QF8-64-56 and the MPA code is QF8-64-99. SIPA does not require a subject test.

Do not feel confined to limit your standard résumé to a single page. We recommend that you use a standard font
(such as New Times Roman). We also recommend that you use only basic characters such as bullet points and that you do not
extend the margins. Complicated formats and extended margins sometimes do not allow the résumé to print in a readable
format. The average résumé is 3 to 4 pages and includes information such as the following:
                   a. Employment held (include title of jobs and start/end dates)
                   b. Academic degrees, achievements, honors. You may include fellowships you have been awarded
                   c. Volunteer, public service, political work you have done.
                   d. Memberships in honorary societies and awards for services or leadership.

If you are applying to the One Year Environmental Science and Policy MPA Program (ESP) please concentrate your academic
résumé on your quantitative experience as well as any experience related to the study of natural and physical sciences. For all other
applicants please concentrate on quantitative and language experiences per the details below.

    a. It is important that the Admissions Committee be able to ascertain the quantitative aptitude of applicants to our program.
Therefore we ask for a second résumé that includes specific details pertaining to your quantitative background (studies/
experience in math, statistics, quantitative economics, science classes requiring math skills, etc.)

    b. In the case of ESP applicants the Committee will also need to determine the experience the applicant has related to the
study of natural and physical sciences.

    c. In addition, if you are applying to the MIA program or are an MPA applicant (two year full time program) that plans on

Proficiency is defined as the ability to achieve a grade of "B" or better in an intermediate level 2 college language courses.
Competitive MIA or MPA-EPD applicants therefore typically have at least an elementary understanding of a language other than
English. For applicants to all SIPA programs that do not speak English as a native language, this résumé should include
information on your English language training/study.

    d. Relevant information pertaining to the above academic subject matter (quantitative, science, and language study) can
         include:
              i. Name/level/grade/institution pertaining to classroom courses.
ii. For classroom courses, a description of the course and specific learning objectives.

a second language was spoken but your academic training was in another language?).
