CTA is excited about our fall production of Peter Pan. This production is for youth ages 12 to 18.
CTA believes strongly that the audition is part of the overall theatrical experience. Each auditioner will be asked to
sing, dance and read from a script. Some auditioners may be asked to a callback on Monday, September 8 at 6:30.
A callback notice only means that the artistic staff needs to see you again. Receiving a callback does not
automatically put you in the show and not receiving a callback does not exclude you from the show. Each applicant
will be called by Wednesday, September 10, with the results of their audition. If you are not cast, we would love
your help backstage, where the real action is.
If you are cast, an initial meeting will be held on Sunday, September 14 at 1:00 for parents and cast members. At
this meeting important information will be presented; the cast will be introduced, scripts will be distributed and a
script read-through will take place. A parent or guardian is required to be present at this meeting to complete
mandatory forms and a medical release. Cast members may not attend any rehearsals until the medical
release and emergency information forms are completed. A script deposit of $25 will be collected at this
meeting and will be returned at the end of the production if the script is returned in good condition.
Rehearsals are held at Belvedere Elementary located at 360 Broadwater Road on Tuesday and Thursday evenings
from 7-9 p.m. and at Children’s Theatre of Annapolis at Bay Head Park on Sunday afternoons from 1-5 p.m, unless
otherwise announced. There may be some additional rehearsals on Saturdays, but you will receive notice in
advance. You will be informed of which rehearsals you will be required to attend and of any changes in the schedule.
There will be a MANDATORY Behind the Scenes workshop (to be announced) for all cast member and parents
are invited to attend.
Cast members are expected to attend every rehearsal for which you are scheduled. If you cannot attend because of
illness, you must notify the Production Managers. If you do not call or show up for a rehearsal, it will be considered
an unexcused absence. If you accrue three unexcused absences, you can be cut from the cast or be
reassigned a different role. Rehearsals are not necessarily canceled if schools are closed. Every effort will be
made to contact you by phone or email in the event of a cancellation, but it is your responsibility to confirm a
cancellation by contacting CTA.
Appropriate clothing for moving and dancing, and closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. Smoking, gum
chewing and candy are not permitted at rehearsals. Healthy snacks and non-carbonated drinks are encouraged.
You should dedicate a clothesbasket to transport costumes and makeup. You should acquire your own black
mascara, foundation base, lipstick (colors to be specified) and sponge applicators.
CONFLICTS: Please list all possible conflicts with the rehearsal schedule, tech week and show schedules on your
audition form.
CONSIDER THIS BEFORE AUDITIONING: NO ONE MAY MISS ANY TECH REHEARSALS OR SHOWS. THERE
WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS! DOING SO WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE YOUR PART.
Actors cast as Peter Pan, Wendy, Michael, and John will all fly in harnesses. A parent or
a parent designated adult must act as the child’s flier. A representative, from the company
flying the children, will be at the theatre on December 19, 20, and 21 to instruct the
parent/designee and the child. If you accept any of these roles, it is mandatory that you
be available for these dates and all subsequent rehearsals and shows.
