                                             Owings Mills Elementary School
Per Title I, Part A Section 1118 (b) (1)of the Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA); Each school served under this part shall jointly develop
with, and distribute to, parents of participating children a written parental involvement policy, agreed on by such parents, that shall describe
the means for carrying out the requirements of subsections (c) through (f). Parents shall be notified of the policy in an understandable and
uniform format and, to the extent practicable, provided in a language the parents can understand. Such policy shall be made available to the
local community and updated periodically to meet the changing needs of parents and the school.

Part I. General Expectations
As a Title I School, Owings Mills Elementary agrees to have programs, activities and procedures for the involvement of parents that are
consistent with Title I, Part A Section 1118 of the Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA) and the Baltimore County Public School System
Policy (Policy 1270).

Owings Mills Elementary defines parent involvement as the participation of parents in regular, two-way, and meaningful communication
involving student academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring;
a) That parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning,
b) That parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school,
c) That parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate in decision-making and on advisory committees to
   assist in the education of their child.

Owings Mills Elementary’s Family Involvement Plan accepts the Baltimore County Public School system’s family involvement policy and
has aligned its school-level parent involvement plan with local, state, and federal requirements.
