Non-profit Organization Research Sheet
Directions: Here’s a chance to do YOUR share for the Common Good! What social problems in your
community are you concerned or interested about? Using the list of local non-profit groups, go online and
find one that is working to help. Read all about your non-profit organization and record your information
below. Use the following questions as a guide (you may have extra information, of course!) You will then be
presenting (in two minutes or less) your non-profit organization to a group of “wealthy donors” (your class)
who will be deciding which non-profit to “support”!
1. Name of the non-profit organization you will be presenting:
2. Mission of the organization (include all of the following):
What is the problem this organization is trying to fix?
Where does this organization operate?
How exactly does this non-profit organization help?
Why is it important to solve this problem? (Why should we support this group?)
3. What can volunteers do to help this organization?
Once you have completed your research, create a persuasive visual using one power point
slide. On a second slide, list the websites you used to find your information and pictures. Use
the rubric on the other side as a guide.
When you are finished, save your power point slide on the public drive under:
ALL > Harrington> (your class period) Use your name(s) as the file name (i.e. Susie Sally NPO).
