Board Meeting Minutes: September 6th, 2007
CHS Cafeteria 7:30 P.M.
Board Members:
Present: Lisa Elliott, Tom Finnerty, Kelley Glasgow, John Hammond, Mike Levato,
James Mattice, Mark McKenna, Mark Mende, Kirstin Newman, Rob Newvine, Darlene
O’Connor, Matt Randi, Carla Wentworth

Proceedings:
Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Pres. Matt Randi
Minutes:
o Minutes from the last meeting were accepted with the following addition:
CPW Soccer House League Soccer information will be added. Motion to
approve- 1st- Newvine; 2nd- Levato
Program Coordinator’st Report:
o L. House prepared financial reports for June, July, August and September
to date.
o Motion to approve report: 1st-Newman 2nd- Randi
Officer Appointment:
o Bryan Mallette was appointed on the board as an officer to fill one of the
empty board seats. Vote: All in favor; none opposed.
By-Laws:
o The By-Laws Subcommittee (Finnerty & Levato) will compare Boys and
Girls Club By-Laws with our own and then propose possible changes to
the CPWA By-Laws.
Student Board Member
o Tori Thomas, a junior at CHS was appointed by the board to fill the female
student board seat. Vote: All in favor; none opposed.
Commissioners’ Reports:
o Football- M. Randi
Approximately 60 players signed up. Wes Zeller is running day-to-
day operations.
Teams look promising. Plan to take pictures and provide them to
players.
o Summer Soccer- J. Hammond
Submitted report-detailing summer 2007 season.
All teams were competitive in the league. Players were provided
socks this year instead of t-shirts. Played at Canton Central this
summer. Closing balance = $2219.24
K. Newman has agreed to take over as Summer Soccer
Commissioner as J. Hammond will step down.
o Hockey- R. Newvine
Newsletter is ready to send. Sign up dates are set- Sept. 19th, 23rd,
& 26th; Tourney Dates set: Fall Classic- Dec. 1& 2 ; High School –
Dec. 14 &15.
New supporting personnel: Registrar- J. Mattice; Tourney Director-
T. Finnerty; Treasurer- Kim Zeller; House League- M. McKenna;
Hockey Subcommittee- M. Levato, M. McKenna, & D. O’Connor
Coaching assignments have not been finalized.
Upcoming meeting scheduled with John Taillon, Canton
Recreation, for discussion regarding ice times.
Holding discussions with Potsdam Minor Hockey to try and fill out
teams.
Pat Martin has agreed to take over as Hockey Commissioner for
next season as R. Newvine will be stepping down at the end of this
season.
Old Business:
o SeaComm donated $250. M. Randi will have a picture taken for
publication in the paper.
New Business:
o Received a letter from William Herzog, which discussed graduation and
the awarding of the CPWA Award to Brittanie Taillon.
o Wycoffs have donated $10,000 for the Canton Community Fund, which is
coordinated by Chris Angus. M. Randi will contact C. Angus regarding the
use of the monies to refurbish the Pee Wee Fields.

Next Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at the CHS cafeteria
beginning at 7:00 p.m.
