Iowa Farm Bureau Supports District Teachers
Sioux City (March 11, 2008) – Several Sioux City Community School District teachers were
recently award money through the Iowa Farm Bureau’s “Ag in the Classroom” program, which
encourages educators to teach about food and fiber system, and the role agriculture in our
economy. The teachers were awarded up to $200 for classroom programs that promote
agricultural literacy.
Teachers awarded: Emerson Elementary School-Carol Simpson; Irving Elementary School-
Erica Olson, Rebecca Ronchetto, and Judy Zittlau; Joy Elementary School-Kim Brown, Bonnie
Forbes, Sarah Geddes, Linda Hersom, and Lisa Peterson; Longfellow Elementary School-
Coleen Loffswold; McKinley Elementary School-Joyce Gastro; Roosevelt Elementary School-
Marilyn Arends; Sunnyside Elementary School-Colleen Jarman; and Whittier Elementary
School-Nancy LaBrune.
