Unit Designations: When responding out of area or district
(i.e. county, state) apparatus/officer designations should be
converted to clear text as well.
Example: Dayville ET163 would become Dayville Engine 1
Pomfret T170 would become Pomfret Tower 1
Moosup R494 would become Moosup Rescue 1
Lisbon C54 would become Lisbon Chief
When a FD has multiple Engines, Ladders, Rescues the
numbering continues as follows; Dayville Engine 2, 3, etc.
Engine Tanks, Engines are designated ENGINES
Hose Tenders – HOSE TENDER
Tankers (i.e. >1500 gallons) – TANKER
Ladders, Towers or Trucks – LADDER or TOWER
Forestry, Service Type Apparatus – As Designated
Ambulance – AMBULANCE
Rescue – RESCUE
