APPLICATIONS.

 White Studios will start delivering Senior Portraits. If you have received a postcard from them stating your portraits will be delivered,
                             come to the LOBBY of the Auditorium on Tuesday, November 10th @ Lunch.

     Seniors! NHS dues are to be turned in by Friday, November 13th. See Mr. Moroaica in Rm. 284 if you have any questions.

answer for you! Sign up for the SAT/ACT Strategy Workshop and Practice Test Sessions. Three Saturdays, November 7,

  "Beauty is..." up to YOU!! REFLECTIONS CONTEST entries are due November 25th, and this year's
   theme is "Beauty is..." Any student may participate by submitting an original work of art in one of the
    following categories: musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance choreography, film/video
 production, or literature. Express yourself! Show off your artistic talent! Packets and forms can be found on-
                   line at www.capta.org/sections/programs/reflections.cfm or in any House on campus.
John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest - Students 9th – 12th grade are eligible to submit an entry to this
essay writing contest. The deadline to apply is January 10, 2010. Information is available in House C.

STUDENTS: When you are leaving campus for appointments you must pick up your ‘Permit To Leave’ either before school,
at nutrition or lunch. The Attendance DOES NOT call classrooms to ask for you to be released. You must be responsible
and obtain the Permit to Leave prior to going to the period from which you are leaving
  ENTER "DESIGN A DECA LOGO" CONTEST! - DECA student's want to have a classy, but unique, T-shirt to wear while
representing BHHS when attending California competitive events. If you have the talent to design a creative logo design, go
                      to room 281 for entry details. Winner receives a gift card to their favorite restaurant.

Season's Greetings!! BHHS Performing Arts presents this year's fall play, "Kringle's Window." The show runs November
    12th-14th and 19th-21st at 7PM, in the Salter Family Theatre. Tickets are $8 for Students and $12 for Adults;
however, since there are two cast for this year's show, if students wish to purchase tickets to see both casts they can get
a two pack of tickets for $10 total. Tickets will be on sale on the front lawn Monday the 4th- Friday the 20th. Ho, ho, ho!

SENIORS

Seniors who are applying to private universities should submit the CSS Financial Profile beginning October 1st and no later than
December 1st for financial consideration. This is in addition to the FAFSA. See Mrs. Hale in House C for information.

ALL SENIORS WHO ARE REQUESTING A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FROM A TEACHER AND/OR COUNSELOR MUST
MAKE THAT REQUEST IN PERSON. DO NOT JUST DROP YOUR FORMS IN YOUR TEACHER’S OR COUNSELOR’S
MAILBOX. DEADLINE DATES FOR REQUESTING LETTERS: FOR EARLY APPLICATIONS - - - OCTOBER 1ST. FOR
REGULAR - - - NOVEMBER 20TH.
There are full ride scholarships available at many top universities, including UCLA and USC, for students who have above a
     3.0 and can get at least 1000 on their SAT or a score of 45 (combined math and verbal) on their ACT and who are
 interested in either the Naval Officer Training Corps or Marine Corps Option. If you are interested in learning more about
                    this scholarship opportunity, please ask Ms. Costello in the College and Career Center.
