Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY): $7,500. Judging criteria is based on academic
performance, athletic excellence, leadership and community service. Will have to write an essay. Visit

Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship: Open to student who have made a positive impact on their
community. Up to $10,000 available. Visit www.kohlskids.com for more info. Deadline March 15th.
Student Ambassador Program at Pitt: Pitt Community College is looking for student ambassador’s to
conduct campus tours, serve as host/hostess for official college events and recruitment. Students will
receive compensation in form of tuition and fees. Applications can be downloaded at www.pittcc.edu.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship: Open to minority high school seniors planning to attend an
accredited 4 year institution within the US. Must be a US citizen, Minimum of 1000 on SAT or 21 on

Intertribal Timber Council Scholarship: Open to Native American/Alaskan students pursuing a degree in
Natural Resources. Submit resume, 3 letters of reference, and validated enrollment in a federally

ECU: Williams Leadership Award: Open to students who are attending ECU and have a 3.0 GPA, 1000
SAT or 21 on ACT and are involved in leadership, service, or student organizations in school and their
community. Must live in Jarvis dorm to be eligible. For application visit

NC A&T: Richard B. Johnson Memorial Scholarship: Must be attending NC A&T. Must fill out the
application, provide 2 letters of reference, submit a copy of HS transcript and write an essay describing
how you meet the scholarship theme of Lift, Empower, Advocate, and Donate. $500.00. Applications
available in Mrs. Mulkey’s office. Deadline March 25th.
PCC Foundation Scholarship: Open to any student planning on attending Pitt Community College.
Applications are available in Mrs. Mulkey’s office. Deadline to apply is March 25th. No GPA or other
requirements were given.
UNC – Chapel Hill: Riddick Foundation Scholarship: Must be accepted to UNC Chapel Hill. Must
demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Applicants must demonstrate service through
church, community and school activities. Apply online at www.csascholars.org or call 866‐608‐0001 to
receive an application by mail. Deadline March 28th.
NAACP Scholarships: Must have a 2.5 GPA and attending a 4 year university. $1,000 to $5,000. Several

North Carolina Community Foundation Scholarships: Amounts vary and various scholarships are
available on this site. For applications visit: www.nccommunityfoundation.org/section/scholarships1.

Greenville Rotary: Open to any high school senior attending college. Must fill out application, have 2
letters of recommendation and write a paragraph about yourself. Applications available in Mrs.
Mulkey’s office. Deadline 3/31.
North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Scholarships: Amounts vary and various scholarship
available on this site. For applications visit: www.ncpublicschools.org/recruitment/scholarships. Some
of these scholarships have to have a nomination, and have already passed. Deadlines vary.
Buick Achievers: Must be attending a 4 year college or university. Plan to major in one of the following:
science, technology, engineering, math, business administration, finance, marketing or design or be
interested in the automotive or related industries. Up to $25,000. Apply online at
www.buickachievers.com. Deadline March 31st.
Orphan Foundation of America Scholarship: Open to all students in the foster care program, or have
been adopted out of the foster care program after the age of 16. For application and more information

UNC Chapel Hill ‐ Light on the Hill Society Scholarship: Open to African‐American students who have
been accepted to UNC Chapel Hill. Up to four one time $1,000 scholarships available. To apply visit
www.alumni.unc.edu/loth. Deadline for submission is April 1st.
Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation: Must be a son or daughter of a Marine on active duty or in the
Reserve, a former Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an honorable discharge or who was
killed while in the service. GPA of 2.0 and planning to enroll in a 2 or 4 year university. $1,000 to

State Employees Association of North Carolina: Senior parent(s) must be a member of the State
Employees Association of North Carolina. Applications are available online at www.seanc.org. You must
call Renee Vaughan at (919) 833‐6436 x3333 or (800) 227‐2758 to be screened that you are eligible to
apply. Deadline April 15th.
North Carolina Society of Accountants: Must be a resident of North Carolina, enroll in an accredited
school of higher education, enroll in an accounting degree program with six or more credit hours per
semester, must show a firm intention to continue in the field of accounting. Applications available in
Mrs. Mulkey’s office. $500.00. Deadline April 15th.
Daphne Moore‐Berry Scholarship: Open to all seniors attending ECU, PCC, or Miller‐Motte and
planning to enter a teaching/education field. Must have a GPA of 3.0, fill out an application, submit a
photo, transcript and one letter of recommendation. Applications are in Mrs. Mulkey’s office. Deadline
is April 8th.
People to People Scholarship: Open to any senior attending one of the 16 NC Public
Colleges/Universities. Must complete an extensive application available in Mrs. Mulkey’s office. One
student at South Central will receive a $10,000 scholarship! Deadline April 15th.
Seniors interested in tutoring during school for science courses should see Mrs. Mulkey. Students will
receive volunteer hours.

You have until the end of March to order your cap and gown without paying the late fee. If you have
not ordered yet go to www.hjgraduation.com to get that taken care of ASAP.
