We present the solutions adopted to the achievement of the Information System
Infrastructure, works fulfilled in the framework of the CE Programmes:LIFE
MOSYM and RIVER LIFE, with the purpose to automate the Monitoring of the
Hydrological Parameters.
The System is based on the HYDRAROM Automated Stations, manufactured
and homologated by SIAT SA, partner in the above mentioned Programmes.
The manufacturing of the Automated Stations is based mainly on Components
and Subassemblies supplied by Logotronic GmbH (Austria).
The paper presents some aspects in connection with: the structure of the
HYDRAROM Automated Station, the means for the accomplishment of the
Installation Works and some remarks on their exploitation.

                          The Main Target of these Projects was to Design and
                          to Manufacture Automated Hydrometric Stations in
                          Romania, provided with functions for Measuring,
                          Storing and Centralized Transmission of the
                          Quantitative & Qualitative Hydrometeorological
                          Parameters, to install them at locations of interest,
                          creating in this way the National Hydrological
                          Information System.
 RESULTS:

• Component Manufacturing according to ISO9000 Standard;

• Factory Acceptance Test (FAT);

• Shop Drawing Set for all Mechanical and Electrical Subassemblies;

• Preparation Works at Installation Sites managed by Final benefiting
  Authority Apele Romane ( Romanian Waters);

• Mechanical and Climate Tests for the HYDRAROM Stations,
  homologated by QTEST IPA SA Company;

• Elaboration of the Documentation and of the User Interfaces in
  Romanian Language;

                In Arges basin the following automatic stations were already installed:
                • 5 stations for the monitoring of hydrological parameters;
                • 1 station for the monitoring of the water quality parameters;
                • 1 mobile laboratory automatic station.

              LIFE-MOSYM Project




               In Mures basin the following stations were already installed:
               • 14 automatic stations for the monitoring of hydrological parameters;
               • 1 station for the monitoring of water quality parameters.

                     In Siret basin the following stations were already installed:
                     • 13 stations for the monitoring of hydrological parameters;
                     • 1 station for the monitoring of water quality parameters.

                       In the Prut basin the following stations were already installed:
                       • 2 Stations for the monitoring of hydrological parameters.

             In the Timis-Bega basin, the following automatic stations were already installed:
             • 25 automatic stations for the monitoring of hydrological parameters.
             • 5 automatic stations for the monitoring of water quality parameters.

 CONCLUSIONS:



• The existing network comprising 68 stations has been permanently extended
and further stations and sensors can be added.

• The standardization concept was successfully used during system
implementation.

• Due to standardization, installation costs were within the budgeted limits.

• Standardization made possible the installation of a cost effective system that
satisfies national informational hydrological system current requirements.
