2009 – Present: Theory-based Logic Models Technical Assistance and Training
Role: Team member. Funded through the Child Mental Health Initiative National
Evaluation and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the
logic model team works with funded system of care communities to craft logic models
that reflect their unique contexts and theories of change to meet the needs of children
with serious emotional disturbances and their families.
2007 – Present: Title IV-E Waiver Evaluation
Role: Sub-study Lead for the Family Assessment and Services component which
includes a focus on parent/caregiver engagement in planning and services. Funded
through the Florida Department of Children & Families, this study examines the
effectiveness of expanded child welfare services and supports in improving
permanency and safety outcomes for children in or at risk of entering out-of-home
placement.
2006 – Present: Child Welfare Prepaid Mental Health Plan Evaluation
Role: Co-Principal Investigator and Lead for the Quality of Care component
examining the quality of mental health services provided to children which include the
domains of parent/caregiver engagement, access, and appropriateness. Funded through
the Agency for Health Care Administration, the study examines the extent to which
the mental health service needs of children in Florida’s child welfare system are being
met by the Medicaid Child Welfare Prepaid Mental Health Plan.

2007 – 2008: Implementation Analysis for Medicaid Managed Care Evaluation
Role: Principal Investigator. Funded through the Agency for Health Care
Administration, this study gleaned further understanding of the challenges in
implementing Medicaid managed mental health care and generated possible solutions
to ameliorate the issues.
2006 – 2007: Children’s Quality of Care Study
Role: Principal Investigator. Funded through the Agency for Health Care
Administration, this study used mail survey methodology to examine the quality of
Medicaid-funded mental health services provided to children with serious emotional
disturbance in various regions of Florida. Domains of study included parent/ caregiver
engagement, access, and appropriateness.
2005 – 2006: Miami-Dade Transition to Adulthood System Redesign Initiative
Role: Team Member. Funded through a contract with MAXIMUS awarded by The
Children’s Trust, this project produced a gap analysis report for use by the Miami-
Dade community in redesigning the system of care for at-risk youth transitioning to
adulthood from foster care, delinquency, homelessness, and runaway status.
2004 – 2007: Florida Community-Based Care Technical Assistance Partnership Project
Role: Team Member. Funded through the Florida Department of Children and
Families (DCF), this project assisted DCF and local communities with various needs
related to providing privatized child welfare services throughout Florida.
2004 – 2006: Children’s Quality of Care Study
Role: Project Director. Funded through the Agency for Health Care Administration,
this study examined the quality of Medicaid-funded mental health services provided to
children with serious emotional disturbance in various regions of Florida through a
mixed methods approach. Domains of study included parent/caregiver engagement,
access, and appropriateness.
2004: Special Focus Study of Family Continuity Programs, Inc.
Role: Team Member. Funded by the Florida Department of Children and Families,
this study examined the internal and external factors related to the performance of
Family Continuity Programs, Inc., a former child welfare lead agency in Pinellas and
Pasco counties.
2003 – 2004: Analysis of Implementation of Systems of Care at CMHS Grant Communities
Role: Team Member. Funded by ORC Macro, this project assessed how well an
early cohort of 14 communities implemented a system of care for children with
serious emotional disturbance and their families.

2007 – Present: Child and Family Studies Impact Planning Team/Committee
The impact planning process was developed to identify goals, impact, and measures of
projects across divisions that are consistent with the overall vision, mission, and values of
the department and University’s strategic goals and results in a report each year.
2009: FMHI Compact Planning Committee
This committee developed a compact plan for FMHI for consideration of inclusion into
the larger compact plan for the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and
created a general framework that addresses the roles, functions, and activities that are
essential to the FMHI mission.
2008: Assigned Faculty Duties (AFD) Workgroup
The FMHI AFD Workgroup was formed with the purpose of making
recommendations to the FMHI Faculty Council regarding the processes by which
faculty assigned duties are planned as tangible goals and evaluated.
2006 – 2007: Supervision Workgroup for the Division of State and Local Support
This workgroup was convened to address challenges that may arise when employees are
assigned to multiple projects and may be supervised by multiple principal investigators
that may or may not include their supervisor of record. The goal of the workgroup was
to clarify roles of principal investigators and supervisors and identify best practices for
mutual communication that benefit both the employees involved and the projects on
which we work.
