Job Definition
Support and assist in the development of automotive components, covering the f ollowing areas: bench testing of
boards/test boxes using a wide range of test equipment (CAN network tools, logic analysers, oscilloscopes,
data loggers and various measuring devices). Design and develop analogue and digital circuits from
breadboard to printed circuit layout, using schematic capture and circuit simulation tools. Support design of
test boxes; support software development; maintain schematics; specif ications and requirements
documentation. Work with Electronics manufacturing plants.
Skills Required:
• Design and development experience of electrical circuit design.
• Understanding of Microprocessors, Analogue and Digital electronics.
Education Requirements:
• Studying f or a degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related subject.

“Working at Visteon has given me a great opportunity to get involved with some very interesting projects in
automotive after market entertainment, through testing and debugging I have learnt how these first rate systems
work. I am treated like an engineer, regularly receiving jobs that an engineer would expect to do and therefore
have not stopped learning valuable skills since I started here. Not all of the skills are technical as there have
been opportunities to liaise with over seas companies; suppliers and customers which can be more challenging
than you would think. Overall my experiences here at Visteon have truly been rewarding.
Whilst working at Visteon I have been exposed to many aspects of electronic engineering, ranging from EMC,
PWB deign and circuit debugging. On top of this I have learnt about interfacing with different parts of the
company whom are positioned in various parts of the world”.
“The Electronics product group hold regular meetings in which we learn about various issues that may affect us
i.e. contract wins and presentations about new developments in engineering. Everyone I work with is happy to
help, be it an engineer, or a technician in the Lab. When I need help the information and advice I am given is
done in a way so that I still work things out for myself, this has been very beneficial to my education since it
allows me to develop my own understanding and knowledge. All in all I feel that Visteon has offered me un-
reviled opportunities that I wouldn’t have been able to receive anywhere else”.

Support and assist in the development of system solutions f or Driver Inf ormation and/or Audio products
(Instrument Clusters, Centre Displays and Radio/CD players). Activities will include developing and
documenting system requirements and vehicle scenarios. Supporting activities will also include collection and
consolidation of metrics, perf orming verif ication and peer review of system bookshelf f eatures and general
assistance to the System teams.

Job Definition
The EMC test department provides test services on a broad range of Visteon automotive electronics products
including Driver Inf ormation Systems, Audio Inf otainment, Climate Control and Lighting modules. This student
placement is required to support the day to day operations of our EMC test department and will provide the
successf ul candidate with an opportunity to experience the introduction of newly developed products into the
test environment. Main tasks will include supporting handover of test samples f rom product engineering teams;
verif ying correct operation of test parts and associated support equipment; assisting in test preparation and set
up. Resolving product operational issues with assistance f rom test engineering team; preparation of technician
test sheets in accordance with customer test plans; monitoring test progress and accuracy; assisting technicians
in resolving technical issues as appropriate; Assisting in preparation of EMC test reports.

Skills Required:
Design and development experience of electrical circuit design.

and/or Audio products (Instrument Clusters, Centre Displays and Radio/CD players). Activities will include
developing and documenting test plans, software requirements and sof tware detailed designs. Depending
upon the experiences gained; it may also include analysis and implementation of sof tware testing solutions.
Supporting activities will also include collection and consolidation of metrics, perf orming peer review of
sof tware test procedures and general assistance to the Sof tware Validation Teams.
Skills Required:
 Excellent documentation and written English.
 MS Of f ice literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
 Knowledge of Sof tware programming capabilities, using a structured (object based) approach
 Knowledge of electronic circuitry
Education Requirements:
