Administrator Appraisal Instrument
Directions: La Academia de Estrellas Charter School’s Administrator Appraisal Instrument is divided into
9 Domains with descriptors in each domain. This instrument is used as a summative evaluation completed
by the administrator’s evaluator.
Rating Scale:
Exceeds Expectations 5 Clearly demonstrates outstanding performance on the
listed descriptors almost all of the time.
Proficient 3 Demonstrates the listed descriptors most of the time.
Below Expectations 1 Demonstrates the descriptors some of the time.
Unsatisfactory 0 Demonstrates the descriptors little or none of the time.
Domain I: Instructional Leadership Circle one for each descriptor:
A. Ensures a clear, focused understanding of the district/campus 0 1 3 5 NA
mission, goals and initiatives to ensure achievement for all
students.
B. Assists the leadership to develop, implement, monitor and 0 1 3 5 NA
review the campus improvement plan which is clearly
focused on campus and student improvement.

program to ensure compliance. (special education,
bilingual/ESL, Title I etc.)

to ensure that alignment of curriculum, instruction and
assessment meet TEKS objectives and reflect strategies
which will meet individual student needs.
E. Assists with monitoring improvement in the purposes, design 0 1 3 5 NA
and implementation of the instructional program, as well as
other support programs related to the mission of the school.
F. Assists with monitoring and analyzing student achievement 0 1 3 5 NA
and teacher performance throughout the year, using
benchmark assessments, classroom data and TAKS results to
improve student progress.
G. Assists with the implementation of school programs in 0 1 3 5 NA
relation to identified deficiencies and assist with the
development of immediate modifications where necessary to
ensure student achievement.
H. Ensures that professional staff has all textbooks and approved 0 1 3 5 NA
resources to effectively implement the instructional program
on the campus.
