OLD BUSINESS
Conflicts of interest: Ms. Simmons will check to see if there is
anything in by-laws regarding this area. If an association has
anything they wish clarified, let her know.
Neutral Officials @ regional contests: Ms. Simmons said that this
was voted down. Basketball in Long Island for Sections 8 & 11
(agreed to by ______) – rule is host officials unless both sides agree
otherwise.
Email addresses: Any problems? Mr. Wettje didn’t get notice – was
it sent? Will look into this.
Post season assignments: Mr. Nikitiadis had a question about policy
regarding post season assignments. Mr. Simmons won’t discuss now
since this has been done before a number of times. Discussion re
input received and how it is used. Will list parameters on guidelines.
NEW BUSINESS
Scrimmages: Mr. DiRuocco noted that scrimmages are not shown
now in Spring. Why can’t officials see assignments on screen. Ms.
Simmons says should get late fee request notice received via email.
Also, may not show if more than 2 officials.
Email communications: Ms. Edwards wants to see if communication
can be improved especially if the office is closed. Ms. Simmons says
have phone problems but can list on website when closed.
Winter sports: Track & Field not listed. Will go up this weekend.
Concussions: Ms. Stark asked what is protocol for concussions –
how to handle. The state is currently working on a statement to be
approved at their May meeting. At events, someone under
supervision of school doctor can OK reentry. Discussion followed.
Email: Mr. White noted when emails went out some of his people
didn’t get it (said he was told if had a prior bad email, any after that
didn’t go). If BOCES sends batch email, can sender stops and fix it.
Mr. Simmons will check list tomorrow. Discussion regarding this
followed.
Zones: Mr. D’Angelo asked if when you give availability, does it list
zone of departure. Is this an important parameter? Told yes, and list
where you leave from, not home.
Fall Sports: Ms. Simmons reminded all that can’t change availability
after 4/8 and blocked out until schedules are released. Mr.
Sutherland noted that this is wrong – time stamps and postmark
dates count. Noted that things change. Ms. Simmons said call desk
or email if this happens. Football will be hand scheduled.
Reductions in freshmen and modified (may disappear). JV will likely
be reduced.
Computer program: Mr. White noted Arbiter assigning system is
better than Sports Pak program. Ms. Simmons say won’t be
changing.
Mr. D’Angelo noted that the next OCF Meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, June 15th, at 7:00 PM.
Mr. Sarcone made a motion to close the meeting and this was
seconded by Mr. Santos. Motion carried.
