JOB TITLE: Campaign Coordinator
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Campaign Coordinator will organize the new statewide campaign to create a progressive Michigan
by advancing LGBTQ and social justice values and issues. The campaign coordinator will lead the
campaign’s research and subsequent activities in Michigan.
This is a full-time position located in Michigan.
Salary commensurate with experience.
The Campaign Coordinator reports to a Steering Committee for the campaign.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL:
Be a proven professional with a strong preference of at least 3 years of campaign management
and/or political organizing and/or field campaign experience and/or non-profit management,
including experience with a statewide campaign or coordinated effort
Hold an undergraduate degree or higher
Have proven capacity to manage multiple components of a campaign, including formation,
campaign design, implementation, and evaluation
Have experience working with and leading coalitions, alliances, and have demonstrated ability to
bring groups of people together
Have strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities, in
group settings, and in individual settings
Be self-directed and self-motivated, with attention to detail
Be outcome oriented and disciplined in achieving outcomes of strategic goals and objectives
Be highly computer literate, with a strong command of Microsoft Office, database management,
and web maintenance
Possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Understand the political landscape in Michigan and have familiarity with current political issues
facing the state
Have reliable transportation and an ability to travel within the state regularly
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate with Steering Committee in developing a strategic plan to carry out campaign’s
activities
Execute the campaign’s strategic plan as directed by the Steering Committee
Participate in research development and analysis
Oversee daily operations, ensuring the development and smooth functioning of all systems
Engage in successful communications with the LGBTQ community, the campaign’s supporters
and partners, and supportive national groups
Coordinate a broad, effective campaign with consultants, including, but not limited to, coalition
building, list building, voter contact and get-out-the-vote activities
Represent the campaign at meetings and events and with the public and the press as needed
Coordinate special projects as needed
Communicate regularly and effectively with Steering Committee on campaign’s activities and
progress
