Managed staff of five responsible for policy and commercial issues in more than 10 countries, including
India, Pakistan & Afghanistan. Integrated two new hires into office. Briefed political nominee on regional
policy and commercial issues prior to congressional visits. Supervised launch of U.S.-India dialogue on
standards. Oversaw drafting of briefing materials and travel preparation for senior meetings with foreign
officials.

Investment Portfolio: Represented DOC on U.S. negotiating team for investment agreements in Middle
East, Asia, Western Hemisphere. Monitored foreign country compliance with investment agreements to
increase trade and investment opportunities for U.S. firms.
Organization for Cooperation & Development (OECD) Portfolio: Developed DOC positions on
institutional OECD questions. Coordinated Commerce position for the OECD Trade Committee.
Evaluated OECD work proposals for compatibility with U.S. trade goals. With U.S. mission,
communicated U.S. government positions to OECD Secretariat and foreign delegations.
Trade & Environment Portfolio: Led Commerce's World Trade Organization (WTO) environment team of
over 12 offices. Primary author of U.S. proposal on environmental goods that jump-started negotiations
among 147 WTO Members. Represented Commerce on the U.S. delegation to the WTO's Committee on
Trade and Environment.
Developed policy recommendations and briefed senior DOC officials on trade and environment issues,
including multilateral trade negotiations, free trade agreements and transatlantic biotechnology disputes.
Served as DOC environment negotiator in the Australia and Chile free trade agreements. Coordinated
and/or contributed Commerce input to environmental reviews of WTO negotiations, free trade agreements
for Australia, Morocco, Singapore and Western Hemisphere, in compliance with Congressional mandate.
Briefed Commerce's industry advisory groups on developments in WTO's environment committee.
EU & Regional Affairs Office, Germany, Austria & Switzerland Desk Officer,

Managed semi-annual trade talks between Commerce Under Secretary for Trade and State Secretary at the
German Ministry of Economics.
Led Commerce offices and other U.S. government agencies to develop strategies to assist U.S. companies
to overcome market access barriers that would dampen U.S. exports. Worked with embassies and foreign
governments to implement solutions.
Analyzed business facilitation issues in the TransAtlantic Business Dialogue, a private-sector led dialogue
comprised of 30 U.S. & EU CEOs. Drafted issue papers for senior Commerce officials.
Appointed as Secretarial support to the 2000 Annual OECD Ministerial, an organization of 30 member
governments to discuss trade, economic & social policy issues.
Office of Antidumping, Financial Analyst, 1997 - 1998
Analyzed cost and price structures of foreign companies to determine if U.S. imports of pharmaceutical,
manufactured and agricultural goods were sold at less than fair value. Managed caseload of over 12
companies.
