May 17, 1990 [H.R. 46371 To amend Public Law 101-86 to eliminate the 6-month limitation on the period for which civilian and military retirees may serve as temporary employees, in connection with the 1990 decennial census of population, without being subject to certain offsets from pay or other benefits.

SECTION 1. ELIMINATION OF LIMITATION.

(a) IN GENERAL.-PU~~~C 101-86 (13 U.S.C. 23 note) is Law amended by striking section 4. (b) TECHNICAL CONFORMING AND AMENDMENTS.(1) Sections 203) and 3 6 ) of Public Law 101-86 are each amended(A) by striking paragraph (2); (B) in paragraph (1) by striking "(I)", and by striking "; and" and inserting a period; and (C) by striking "section-" and inserting "section" and running in thereafter the text of paragraph (1) (as amended by subparagraph (B)). (2) Public Law 101-86 is amended by redesignating section 5 as section 4.
SEC. 2. PRIOR SERVICE IN EXCESS OF 6 MONTHS NOT AFFECTED.
Nothing in this Act shall be considered to make a n exemption under section 2 or 3 of Public Law 101-86 applicable to any service performed before the date of enactment of this Act which was in excess of that allowable under section 4 of Public Law 101-86 (as then in effect). Approved May 17, 1990.
