       6.   Employment – Non-Certificated Staff – Temporary Worker

            The Administration recommends employment of Kenneth Root for the
            temporary summer position of Grass Mower. To be paid at the rate of
            $8.25 per hour, not to exceed 40 hours per week, as needed for
            mowing and grounds maintenance during the 2010 growing season.


       7.   Employment – Non-Certificated Staff Supplemental Contracts

            The Administration recommends the following supplemental contracts
            for the 2009-10 school year (July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010). Salaries
            and duties per Board Policy, Administrative Rules and Regulations and
            any applicable state requirements.

            A. Cynthia Straszheim, an additional 70 hours, replacing another
               teacher who did not furnish services, to provide Intervention
               Strategies in Reading and Math to students at Bruce Elementary at
               the rate of $20.00 per hour from Title I.

            B. Blake Pieratt, Head Boys Track Middle School Coach



       8.   Employment – Certificated Staff Supplemental Contracts

            The Administration recommends the following supplemental contracts

       10.   Professional Development Opportunities

             The Administration recommends approval of Saturday Professional
             Development opportunities at Bruce Elementary together with approval
             for payment to the following individuals for participation in such
             program. Teachers and Para-Teachers in attendance will receive a .3
             CEU together with a stipend of $35.00 per hour for each professional
             development session, for a maximum of 5 three-hour sessions, to be
             paid from federal funds.

       11.   Contract for Professional Services

             The Administration recommends approval of an Agreement for
             professional services between the Eaton Community School District
             and the Preble County Educational Service Center, not to exceed
             $99,907.60, for up to four certified teachers to serve as Substitute
             classroom Para-Teachers to assist teachers in grades three through
             five in providing students with academic instruction and intervention,
             retroactive to November 7, 2009. The administration further
             recommends approval of an Amendment to said Agreement for
             payment by the Eaton Community School District to the Preble County
             Educational Service Center for Substitute classroom Para-Teachers’
             participation in approved Professional Development activities not to
             exceed $5,000.00

       12.   Resolution To Request Delayed Implementation of All-Day, Daily
             Kindergarten

               WHEREAS, THE Board of Education of the Eaton Community
           School District recognizes the requirement to offer all-day, daily
           kindergarten to all students of eligible age within the district beginning
           in the 2010-2011 school year, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section
           3321.05; and

               WHEREAS, Section 9 in temporary law of House Bill 318 enacted
           by the 128th General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Ted
           Strickland on December 22, 2009, provides that a school district may
           seek a waiver delaying the implementation of the requirement to
           provide all-day, daily kindergarten from the Superintendent of Public
           Instruction until fiscal year 2012; and

              WHEREAS, such request for delayed implementation must be
           accompanied by a resolution from the school district board of
           education; therefore be it

              RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Eaton Community
           School District requests such delay as authorized for good cause,
           namely; necessary funding to support staff increases needed for
           implementation and space constraints due to classroom space
           currently being used for other educational programming; and


               BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of the Eaton
           Community School District is hereby authorized to file with the
           Superintendent of Public Instruction a plan for full implementation of
           all-day, daily kindergarten in fiscal year 2012 and any other required
           documentation. The Board designates the Superintendent to discuss
           the plan with Ohio Department of Education representatives and
           additionally designates Pam Friesel, East Elementary Principal to
           discuss the plan with the Ohio Department of Education
           representatives as outlined in the application for waiver.

             The Administration recommends approval of a Core Network
             Management Program Agreement with Opti-Vise, LLC for a three-year
             period beginning February, 2010 with an annual fee of $68,304.00.

       18. Out-of-State Field Trips

           The Administration recommends approval for the following out-of-state
           field trips.

           A.   Third grade students to Richmond, Indiana for bowling on May 18,
                2010, funded by Bruce Elementary PTA.
           B.   Fourth grade students to Richmond, Indiana for bowling on May 19,
                2010, funded by Bruce Elementary PTA.
           C.   Fifth grade students to Richmond, Indiana for bowling on May 20,
                2010, funded by Bruce Elementary PTA.

       19. Approval of Student Trip

           The Administration recommends approval of the following out-of-state
           student trip.

           A.   8th Grade Washington D.C. trip to Washington D.C., May 16
                through 19, 2011.

       20. High School Baseball Academy

           The Administration recommends approval for the high school baseball
           program to host the Mid-Ohio Baseball Camp on six consecutive Sunday
           afternoons (February 14-March 21) at Eaton High School. Instruction
           will be provided by the Eaton baseball coaches for students in grades 1-
           12.

       21. Donations

           The Administration recommends acceptance of the following donations.

           A.   From the Preble County Art Association to fund transportation costs
                for 5th grade students and staff to visit the Dayton Art Institute in
                May, 2010.
           B.   From the Eaton United Church of Christ, hats and gloves for East
                Elementary students in need.
           C.   From Hollingsworth East PTA for the Marilyn Tinstman Memorial
                Scholarship Fund.
           D.   From Curtis Christman for the Ruth Ann Christman Memorial

QUALIFICATIONS:

         Must-
         1.      Be eighteen years of age or older.
         2.      Possess high school diploma or equivalent (additional training desirable).
         3.      Pass criminal background check.
         4.      Possess high moral character.
         5.      Possess a regular and predictable attendance record without tardiness.
         6.      Possess a valid driver’s license
         7.      Have ability to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of
                 information.
         8.      Possess ability to work with administration, supervisors, and fellow employees
                 positively, effectively and energetically.
         9.      Be able to function with minimal supervision.
         10.     Have working knowledge of buildings and grounds maintenance and equipment.
         11.     Possess a working knowledge of the trade skills such as plumbing, carpentry,
                 electricity and general mechanical ability.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

         Performs trade skills in maintenance duties which pertain to the school plant, school
         buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:

         1.      Accepts responsibility for the care, condition, appearance, repair or replacement
                 of all physical equipment, buildings, facilities and grounds.
         2.      Repairs equipment and makes building repairs as directed.
         3.      Assists in the promotion of good safety practices and procedures.
         4.      Assists in inventory procedures for supplies, materials and equipment.
         5.      Assists with recordkeeping relative to the maintenance area.
         6.      Serves as a source of information for areas involving buildings and grounds.

        7.     Completes paperwork as required by the Facilities Supervisor and district
               administration.
        8.     Keeps abreast of new maintenance techniques and operations.
        9.     Develops and acquires requisitions for materials needed for projects.

        11.    Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
        12.    Makes repairs and adjustments for the safety and operation of the mechanical
               plant(s).
        13.    Performs repairs within his/her skill ability to all equipment or structures.
        14.    Assumes custodial duties as may be needed or are assigned.
        15.    Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Supervisor and/or
               Superintendent.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

        1.     May be requested to work calamity days and special events in or related to
               building(s)/facilities.

        3.     Ensures security of keys for facilities.
        4.     Maintains a neat personal appearance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

               mechanical ability.

Ability to:     interpret labels, follow directions; and perform physical labor, use power tools
                and equipment.
