Jack and Jill;
It all started one day when scientific jack and scientific Jill went to the not-so-scientific hill, the
perfect spot to research hilltops. The two merrily made their way to the hill then jack said “Hey Jill, look
at this, a perfect spot to check out a hilltop.”
”Wonderful!” Jill blurted “Let’s go now”
The two were on their way up the hill about half way up until it was too steep to go on… no
matter how hard they tried they still fell down.
“Oh no!” Jill exclaimed “How can we get up if it’s way too steep!?”
“Were scientists!” Jack quickly replied “We can invent a way up!”
The two scientists began to brainstorm and swiftly came up with a solution… the simple
machines we have today, it couldn’t be any easier than that! Jack and Jill quickly put together a simple
SEESAW. Jack told Jill to drop a big boulder on one side of the machine while he stood on the other so
he could be launched up to the top of the hill… it’s time to test the invention. Jack readied himself on his
end of the machine. Jill dropped her boulder and when it hit the lever Jack flew straight up in the air!
Jack fell and landed no more than 3 feet from their invention. Jack got up and dusted himself off
and said “I don’t think that will work.”
Jack and Jill got some more new ideas for their hill climbing adventure. Jack decided to use an
AXE to modify and fix their seesaw catapult. They cut it a bit shorter to adjust the launch. Jack readied
himself once again on their invention. Once again Jack flew… but this time right into the hill!
“I don’t know if this is good for my health,” croaked Jack as he pulled his head out of the hill
“Maybe we will try something else less… dangerous.”
The scientists still trying to get up that hill, once again brainstorm for ideas then one of the
simplest possibilities hit them, why not use an INCLINE PLANE to get to the top? They set up a wooden
board to walk on to the top… on their way up the board got very unsteady and steep. Jack started sliding
down and crashed right into Jill and guess what? They both tumbled down the hill. Jack now getting
frustrated wanted to get up that hill… and not to mention his head hurt from that fall, Jack now started
to get ready a PULLEY system on a nearby tree. He tied himself to a rope and Jill started to hoist him up.
Now at the top of the tree a crazy bird in a frenzy attacks Jack and pokes him in the eye.
“AAAAAHHHH, MY SCIENTIFIC EYE!” Jack yells
Jill watches from below as Jacks Pulley is pecked apart by the angry bird and soon Jack
plummets to the ground with a thud. Jack and Jill angrily plot a way up that impossible hill. Jill comes up
with a giant DRILL to burrow their way to the top of the hill. Jill drives up in her drill machine, Jack hops
in and they ready their plan. The drill hits the hill and gets jammed in it. The machine spins around,
hurling Jack and Jill off it.
Jack hops up and furiously storms off in the distance. Jill is puzzled, but a few moments later
Jack is in his huge truck, The WHEEL AND AXEL, He zooms at top speed toward the hill laughing
manically.
“I WILL CONQUOR THIS HILL!” Jack raves.
“ARE YOU INSANE?!” Jill screams.
Jack gets 4 feet away from the hill before his car stops suddenly. Out of gas
“….WHAT!?!” Jack exclaimed “OUT OF GAS!?”
Jack ranted for about 2 and a half hours before he finally said “Forget this Jill, let’s just take the
stairs.”
The stairs at the other side of the hill. By the way Jack fell down the stairs too.
