Outdoor Education Supplies

What to Pack: Students need to pack for three full days and two nights



Warm Clothing

-Extra socks and underwear

-Long underwear / warm under clothing

-Long pants

-Jacket / Warm coat

-Sweatshirts and undershirts

-Gloves

-Hat

-Snow Boots / Hiking boots

-Tennis shoes

-Rain Gear (plastic trash bag)

Bring enough to dress in layers the weather can drastically change throughout the day. Students will be

responsible for making sure they are appropriately dressed for the day since we will be away from our

cabins most of the time.





Personal Hygiene

-Shampoo

-Toothpaste

-Toothbrush

-Hair care needs

-Deodorant

(If you bring cologne or perfume it must not be sprayed more than once at a time,

this includes Axe and body splash)

(Soap, towels and bed linens are supplied by the YMCA)





Miscellaneous Clothing

-Swimming suit (you may wear flip flops during swimming time only, and may not wear t-shirts /

cover-ups in the pool – a YMCA rule.)

-Pajamas (appropriate)

-Comfortable shoes – tennis shoes or hiking boots (2 pairs in case one gets wet).

Also, no skate shoes - laces must be tight.

Miscellaneous needs

-Small backpack for hiking (without wheels)

-Black/Blue Pen or Pencil

-Sunscreen

-Sunglasses (optional)

-Hats (optional)

-Water bottle (32oz or less in size)

-Camera (optional – preferably disposable)

-Playing Cards

-Calling card (optional)

-Book or magazine

-Healthy snacks (Gatorade, crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, trail mix, granola bars, jerky, etc.)

-Money (YMCA and RMNP have souvenir shops)





Prohibited items

-Gum (a YMCA rule)

-Soda Pop and Energy Drinks

-Unhealthy snacks (candy, cookies, chips, etc.)

-Flashlights – (sponsors will have flashlights, so please don’t bring one)

-Matches, knives, firearms, etc.

-Any electronic items (CD players, hand held games, IPod’s, cell phones, alarm clocks, and etc.)

If you believe your child will need to contact you, please send them with a calling card. If it is an

emergency your child may use a sponsor’s phone and you may call a sponsor if you need to get a

hold of your child. You can also get a hold of the school and they will call a sponsor for you. Cell

phones will be taken away if brought. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen cell phone.
