T PRESBYTERY OF HUDSON RIVER
TRUSTEES
The trustees of the Presbytery of Hudson River convened by conference
call at 11 AM August 7, 2008.
PRESENT: Ken Godshall (presiding), Karl Lasseter, Jim Waters, Jay
Bishop, Lynn Cordy, Peggy Howland, George Russell, Harriet Sandmeier
NOT PRESENT: Bill Mead, John Timmons
Also participating: Roland Butts, Charles Barton, Cathy Talbot, Susan
Andrews, Neal Townsend
Ken opened the meeting with prayer. He provided background regarding
the proposed sale of the Poughkeepsie Church.
Roland presented the process that has been followed within the church.
Current status is that there is an inventory underway. The church has also
been looking at potential churches as location for “nesting” the
congregation.
Charles spoke of the excitement within the church and the energies within
the partnership team.
The presbytery will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale but not
from the church’s endowment.
Recess the trustees so BF&P could convene and review.
The trustee meeting was reconvened. Motion to approve the sale was
made and seconded.
The Presbytery of Hudson River hereby consents to the sale of the real
property described in Liber 1882 of Deeds, at page 626, as recorded in the
Dutchess County Clerk's Office on December 28, 1990 and identified as tax
grid number 131300-6161-22-152994-0000, said real property being located
at 100 Cannon Street, Poughkeepsie, New York, owned by the First
Presbyterian Church of Poughkeepsie, New York to be sold to the
Redeemed Church and Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy, pursuant to
a contract of sale dated May 19, 2008. The consent of the Presbytery of
Hudson River is conditioned upon the net proceeds of sale being disposed
of pursuant to a Letter of Understanding dated as of July 18, 2008, a copy
of which is annexed hereto.
Unanimously approved.
There being no further business to come before the Trustees, Ken
adjourned the meeting with prayer at 11:40 AM.
