					1) Replacing the Eurotherm 2116 Control Module in a Thermolyne F62735
   Furnace

2) Objective: To provide a step-by-step guide to the replacement and configuration of a
   Eurotherm 2116 Control Module in a Thermolyne F62735 Furnace:

3) Procedure:

4) Remove the non-functional module from the furnace.

   a) Turn off the furnace.

   b) Gently pull apart the tabs that can be found on either side of the control module and
      slide the module out.

   c) Carefully insert the new module and push in until the tabs click into place.

5) Test the new module.

   a) Turn on the furnace and watch the screen. If the module is functioning it should display
      2116 (the model number of the module) and then after a few seconds go to the home
      display.

   b) If the module appears to be working correctly proceed to the next step, otherwise refer to
      the error code and follow the steps outlined in the manual.

6) Configure the new module.

   a) Restart the furnace and hold down the up and down arrows (▲▼) during the startup
      process. This should enter the configuration mode for the module.

   b) When Conf is displayed on the screen press the up arrow (▲) until the number 2 is
      displayed. Two is the default password for this mode.

   c) Press the page button (the first button on the left) until the Instrument Menu (inSt) is
      displayed.

       i)   Press the scroll button (adjacent to the page button) until the Unit (unit) submenu is
            selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow (▲) until °C is selected. This will set Centigrade as the unit
                the furnace will operate in.

       ii) Press the scroll button again until the Decimal Places in Displayed Value (dEc.P) is
           displayed.

            (1) Press the up arrow until nnnn is selected. This will configure the furnace to
                operate in whole numbers.

       iii) Press the scroll button again until Control Type (CtrL) is selected.
             (1) Press the up arrow until PID (Pid) is selected.

        iv) Press the scroll button again until the Control Action (Act) submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until reverse (rEv) is selected.

        v) Press the scroll button again until the Bumpless Manual/Auto transfer when using PD
           Control (Pd.tr) submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until non-bumpless transfer (HoLd) is selected.

   d) Press the page button until the Input Configuration (iP) Menu is displayed.

        i)   Press the scroll button until the Sensor Input Type (inPt) submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until K Thermocouple (K.tc) is selected.

        ii) Press the scroll button until the Cold Junction Reference Temperature (CJC)
            submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until the Automatic Cold Junction Compensation (Auto) is
                 selected.

   e) Press the page button until the Relay Output Configuration (AA) Menu is selected.

        i)   Press the scroll button until the Function (Func) submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until the Heating (HEAt) option is selected.

        ii) Press the scroll button until the Sense of Output (SEnS) submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until Normal (nor) is selected.

   f)   Press the page button until the Logic Output Configuration (1A) menu is selected.

        i)   Follow the same procedure as the Relay Output Configuration.

   g) Press the page button until the Exit menu is selected.

        i)   Press the up arrow until Yes (YES) is selected. The module should exit the
             configuration mode.

7) Finishing the configuration of the module in the Full Access Operational Mode.

   a) When the module has restarted and entered the home display press the page button
      until the Access (ACCS) menu is selected.

        i)   Press the scroll button until the password input (code) submenu is selected.

             (1) Press the up arrow until the number 1 is selected. This is the default password
                 for this mode.
            (2) Wait two seconds until the word PASS is flashed on the display.

       ii) Press the scroll button until the Go to (GoTo) submenu is selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow until the Full Access (Full) modes is selected, and then wait a
                few seconds.

   b) Press the page button until the PID (Pid) menu is selected.

       i)   Press the scroll button until the Proportional Band (Pb) option is selected.

            (1) Press the down arrow until the value is 1.

       ii) Press the scroll button until the Integral Time (ti) option is selected.

            (1) Press the down arrow until it is off (OFF).

       iii) Press the scroll button until the Derivative Time (td) option is selected.

            (1) Press the down arrow until it is off (OFF)

   c) Press the page button until the Setpoint Menu (SP) is selected.

       i)   Press the scroll button until the Low Setpoint (SP L) option is selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow until it reaches 50.

       ii) Press the scroll button until the High Setpoint (SP H) option is selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow until it reaches 1100.

       iii) Press the scroll button until the Setpoint Ramp Rate (SP.rr) option is selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow until 27.00 is selected.

       iv) Press the Scroll button until the Dwell Time (dwEll) option is selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow until 60 is selected.

   d) Press the page button until the Access Menu is located.

       i)   Press the scroll button until the Go to submenu is selected.

            (1) Press the up arrow until the Operator Access (oPEr) level is selected, and then
                wait a few seconds.

8) Test the module by running a standard experiment with an empty chamber to ensure that
   the system is working correctly.
