My Bucket List
Hopefully, learning about John Goddard gave you a glimpse of the
importance of writing goals down. John Goddard had a passion for
adventure and travel which is portrayed in his life list. John had these
categories for his list: Explore, Study Primitive, Climb, Photograph,
Explore underwater, Visit, Swim in, and Accomplish.
Think about what areas of your life are important for you to
accomplish things in. You might want to write things that have to do
with family life, your career, your faith, people you would like to meet,
things you would like to do, things you would like to learn, things you
would like to read, places you would like to travel, ways that you want
to make a difference, things you want to invent. The possibilities are
endless. Don’t limit yourself by thinking that some of your ideas are
impossible. John probably didn’t think that milking a poisonous snake
was realistic when he put it on the list and later accomplished it.
Be creative and put some thought into this. You may want to do
some research to help you make the most of your goals. You can get
ideas from the books I have brought to class or you can search online.
Open a word document and title it ____________’s Bucket List
Come up with the categories that you want to use to organize your list. You can use
some of the verbs from Johns list or come up with your own. You may want to come up
with your list and then categorize the items later. (You can do it in either order. Do
what is easiest for you.)
Create your bucket list of at least 50-100 things you would like to do (or see or
photograph or have, etc.) before you die.
Add at least 10 pictures to your list to illustrate what you would like to achieve.
