Top Advertising Slogans Coca−Cola Now Regrets Benzene is a nasty carcinogen found in gasoline. After the Associated Press article today about some sodas have benzene in them above legal limits for water −− and the news about how benzene levels increase dramatically when exposed to heat and sunlight −− here are some of the marketing slogans that Coca−Cola regrets. 1904 "Coca−Cola is a delightful, palatable, healthful beverage" 1908 "Sparkling − harmless as water, and crisp as frost" 1913 "The best beverage under the sun" 1914 "Nicknames encourage substitutions" 1916 "It's fun to be thirsty when you can get a Coca−Cola" 1934 "When it's hard to get started, Start with a Coca−Cola" 1938 "Pure sunlight" 1940 "Try it just once and you will know why" 1944 "A moment on the sunnyside" 1949 "Coca−Cola....Along the highway to anywhere" 1954 "For people on the go" and "Matchless flavor" 1965 "Something more than a soft drink" 1994 "Play Red Hot Summer" 1995 "Play Red Hot Summer Again" Re: Top Advertising Slogans Coca−Cola Now Regrets 1

Re: Top Advertising Slogans Coca−Cola Now Regrets 2001 "Life is Good" But Coca−Cola is just glad it didn't go with the current slogan for Diet Pepsi −− "Light It Up!" History and Origin of Benzene in Soft Drinks http://www.schoolpouringrights.com

It's been said that in the mid 70s, Coca Cola was using the ad slogan "It Brings Good Things to Life". Unfortunately, they hired an incompetent to translate it into Chinese for the Taiwan/Hong−Cong markets. The slogan there, roughly re−translated, read "Coke − Brings Your Ancestors Back From The Grave". Might be one of those urban legends ... but I've never heard anyone definitively claim it was such. .
