Historical Note Prior to 1998, the surveys M20J (Fats and Oils– Oilseed Crushings) and M20K (Fats and Oils–Production Consumption, and Stocks) were published together on an annual basis. Prior to 1991, data were collectedcollected on a crop year calendar year basis starting on January 1 andon August 31. In 1991, data were on a monthly quarterly basis starting from September 1 and ending ending on December 31. Currently, data are collected on a monthly calendar year basis starting from January 1 and ending on December 31. The Census Bureau has collected data on fats and oils since 1919. Historical Current Industrial Reports data (called Facts for Industry before 1959) may be obtained from a Federal Depository Library.
