Subject: Applications for 2012 North Coast Executive, Conveners and
Team Manager positions

Interested teachers are invited to apply for the positions listed on the attached page.
It is requested that these positions be advertised throughout your school.

The following conditions apply: -
a) Team Manager:
I. Members of the opposite sex may be elected as a manager of a North Coast
team.
ii. North Coast Team Managers are to supervise all team members from and to
designated travel points, regardless of the home town of the manager.
iii. A teacher may only be permitted to hold one Team Manager’s position
during the same year.
iv) A three (3) year tenure applies to team manager positions.
A North Coast Manager with sport specific qualifications and experience,
who has completed their three (3) year tenure, is eligible to re apply and be
considered for subsequent years, if other applicants do not have sport
specific coaching qualifications.
c) Method of Election:
The election of the North Coast Executive, Conveners and Team Managers shall
be conducted annually.
Each school is entitled to vote for their preferred candidate in each position as
detailed in the voting booklet sent to schools. The booklet must be returned by the
prescribed date via post or facsimile.

Elected Officials - Summary of Duties:
North Coast School Sport Council Representative
(Elected by each Zone)
The North Coast Sports Council meets on two (2) occasions each year (once in term 2 & 3). This Council
monitors the conduct of the North Coast Sport Program and gives recommendations as required. Members
of the Council are also members of the North Coast “Blues Committee”.
Teacher relief is given to attend these meetings.
Vice President:
To represent the Association at Meetings and other functions as required.
Convener – Team Manager Positions
If a person is voted in as a convener of a North Coast Sport he or she is automatically appointed to the
position of team manager as well, provided they have applied for the team manager position and have not
exceeded the three (3) year tenure. NCCHS By-Law 3d (2000)
Convener:
In liaison with the North Coast School Sports Unit run their sport:
i. Maintain and collect results for the North Coast school-based state knockouts;
ii. Arrange and conduct North Coast trials/championships (as a zone team manager);
iii. Assist where possible, (preferably to act as carnival manager) when the North Coast hosts the NSW
Combined High Schools Carnival in their sport;
iv. Advise of any uniform/equipment needs immediately after the completion of the current year’s
activities in readiness for the following year;
v. Book venues and prepare written details for North Coast trials/championships by the beginning of
Term 4 for the following year;
vi. Submit a written report and recommendations at the conclusion of the North Coast
trials/championships.
Team Manager:
In liaison with the North Coast Sports Unit concerning their sport:
i. Attend North Coast trials/championships (as a zone team manager); and act as a selector
(team sports only)
ii. Compile and submit to the North Coast Sports Unit written information on selected players;
iii. Distribute information sheets/permission notes to selected players;
iv. Supervise the North Coast team from and to the designated departure/arrival points when travelling
to the NSW Combined High Schools carnival;
v. Oversee the conduct of the North Coast team at all times;
vi. Co-operate with the host Association when attending the NSWCHS carnival;
vii. In the event of misconduct, provide a detailed account of both the activities and actions taken by the
team management;
viii. At the conclusion of the NSWCHS carnival, give a report on the condition of the North Coast
uniforms and given any recommendations;
Teacher relief is given to attend the NSWCHS Championship.
