“How to” guide
Purpose:
This discussion list is for current NASN officers, board of directors, consultants, and staff
to facilitate communication related to NASN business.
Membership:
This list is a private list where membership is managed by NASN. Incoming directors
can be subscribed to the list before they are installed if requested. Outgoing directors are
automatically unsubscribed when their replacement on the board has been installed.
Frequently asked questions:
How do I send a message to the list?
Use this list address to send a message to the list. Be sure that you are sending the
message from the e-mail address used in your list subscription.
board@lists.nasn.org.
When I reply to the list, where does it go?
By default, your reply goes back to the author of the original message. This differs from
the way other NASN lists function where the reply goes back to the entire list of
subscribers. If you want the entire board list to receive your reply, use the Reply to All
feature.
Can I access previous messages somewhere other than saving them on my
computer?
Members can access list archives online at http://lists.nasn.org/read/?forum=board.
Archives since May 2010 are available. Older archives saved from the previous
discussion list software are not yet available.
What if my e-mail address changes?
The subscription list is not directly connected to the NASN membership database. If you
have a change in email address, please send your change to the general NASN mailbox at
nasn@nasn.org.
What should I do if I am away from my e-mail on vacation and/or are using an
Out-Of-Office message?
It is very important that you have your mail held if you are using an Out-Of-Office
message. Send a blank message to this email address to have your mail held:
nomail-board@lists.nasn.org.
How do I release a hold I put on my mail delivery?
Send a blank message to this email address to have your mail delivery resumed:
