Equine Release of Liability and Training Contract
This RELEASE of LIABILITY and TRAINING CONTRACT is made and entered to
this _________________________day of_______________________, 20________, by
and between Maree’ George-Milles; Shire Farm, hereinafter designated TRAINER and
________________________________________________, hereinafter designated
RIDER/HORSE OWNER, and if Rider/Horse Owner is a minor, Rider’s/Horse Owner’s
parent or guardian,_________________________________. In return for training
services by the Trainer, the Rider/Horse Owner, his/her heirs, assigns, and legal
representatives, hereby expressly agree to the following:
1. It is the responsibility of the Rider/Horse Owner to carry full and complete
insurance coverage on his horse, personal property and himself if so desired
by the Rider/Horse Owner.
2. Rider/Horse Owner agrees to hold Trainer and all of her successors, assigns,
subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents completely
harmless and not liable and release them from all liability whatsoever and
agrees not to sue them on account of or in connection with any claims, cause
of action, injuries, damages, cost or expenses arising out of the horse training
agreed upon in this contract, including without limitation, those based on
death, bodily injury, property damage, including consequential damages,
except if the damages are caused by the direct, willful and wanton negligence
of the Trainer.
3. The below listed horse shall remain on the Rider/Horse Owner’s property
during the course of the agreed upon training services. It is the Rider/Horse
Owner’s sole responsibility to provide all necessary care of the horse at all
times.
4. Rider/Horse Owner agrees to indemnify and hold Trainer harmless from, any
and all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses,
including attorney’s fees, which in any way arise from the Trainer’s use or
presence upon the Rider/Horse Owner’s property.
5. This contract is non-assignable and non-transferable and is made and entered
into the State of Washington, and shall be enforced and interpreted under the
laws of this state. Should any clause be in conflict with State Law, then that
clause is null and void. When the Trainer and Rider/Horse Owner and
Rider’s/Horse Owner’s parent or guardian, if Rider/Horse Owner is a minor,
sign this contract, it will then be binding on both parties, subject to the above
terms and conditions.
The Rider/Horse Owner agrees to a training fee of $ per hour for the below
stated horse:

The dates of training will be negotiated on a weekly basis. Training fees are non-
refundable. This contract can be terminated by either party at any time and without prior
notice.
The Rider’s/Horse Owner’s horse shall be free from infection, contagious or
transmissible disease. Trainer reserves the right at any time to refuse a horse if not in
proper health or is deemed dangerous.
If the above stated horse were to become sick or injured, the expenses are the
responsibility of the Rider/Horse Owner. The Trainer will not be held responsible for any
medical service fees required or incurred for the above stated horse.
