Recipe for red Velvet Cake
Cream together ½ C. of Make paste of 2 T. cocoa and 2
shortening oz of red food coloring. Beat
1 ½ C. of sugar well, add to creamed
2 eggs mixture.
Add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp
of vanilla, to 1 C. of
buttermilk. Add
alternatively with 2 ½ C.
sifted cake flour to creamed
mixture. Beat and beat. Mix
1 ½ tsp of soda and 1 T
vinegar; fold pans 30 min at
350 degrees.
