CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
In this chapter, the writer attempts to give a brief conclusion and
suggestion about teaching vocabulary by using multimedia conducted to the
seventh year students of SMP Maria Assumpta Klaten in 2011.
Based on the result of observation toward teaching and learning
process and interviews with the English teacher of the seventh year students, it
is shown that the students are more interested in the learning process and do
not get bored easily.
Based on the finding above, the writer will try to answer the
problem statement: “How is the process of teaching vocabulary by using
multimedia to the seventh year students of SMP Maria Assumpta Klaten in
From the data, the writer can find the answer as follows:
1. The process of teaching learning vocabulary by using multimedia is as
follows: Firstly, the teacher comes to the classroom, greets the students,
prays together, and checks the students’ attendance. After that, he states
the objectives and a bit warming up activity. The teacher tells the students
that the topic is about imperative sentences. She asks the question to the
students before explaining the topic in that lesson. She shows the material
using power point. Then she gives imperative sentences present using
power point. Then she gives imperative sentences and then asks the
students to repeat some vocabularies related with the topic. The students
follow after the teacher to check the students’ pronounce correctly. She
drills the student more and more by giving explanation and then gives
exercises which are show by using power point. She directs to distribute
the written test for assessment. Then the teacher begins to give the
instruction to the students. After that the students are ready to do the task.
The teacher observes the students’ activity and gives the explanation if
there are the students who do not understand how to do the task or to
answer the questions. After finishing the work the students collect it and
then the teacher corrects and evaluates the task. The teacher also gives
game related with the material. The game is present using power point.
The teacher asked them to identify some hidden images which are show in
power point using instruction related with the material. The goal of the
game is giving new thing to the students beside they enjoy the lesson.
They can also enjoy the lesson by the game. The situation in the classroom
is crowded because all of the students are involved in this lesson. They are
active and enthusiastic. Although the situation in the classroom is crowded
but he always controls the situation. From observation the writer can
conclude that there are the role of the teacher, role of the students, the role
of the instructional material, and the role of picture as media. The roles of
the teacher are as manager, facilitator, counselor, instructor and evaluator.
